SOURCE: Goodman furnace I think

Ok, a flashing 3 on a Goodman control board usually means that the pressure switch is tripping. A few things will cause this. One being a restriction in the exhaust or combustion air inlet. The second could indicate a faulty inducer blower motor and the third would be a blocked or bad pressure switch.

With the front cover off and door switch taped down, Have a helper turn the thermostat up to 75. You will be watching the circuit board for flashing lights and in a few seconds the inducer motor (the small fan hooked to the exhaust) will start. If this does not happen, we either have a bad circuit board or blower motor. If the fan starts rotating, inspect the hoses going to the small circular pressure switch. Sometimes they may get either water or debris in the hose and not allow the switch to sense pressure. If the hoses look OK, the igniter will glow an orange color and you will see this if you look thru the small viewing port. IF no glow, you could have a bad pressure switch, a bad ignition relay (found on the circuit board) or a bad igniter. OK so if the igniter glows, a few seconds later the gas valve should click open and send gas to the burners. The orange will turn to blue. If this does not happen, you have either a bad gas valve or bad circuit board. Finally if you get flame but it will not stay lit more than a few seconds, you may have a restriction in the burner gas train, a bad gas valve, a dirty or bad flame sensor or not enough gas pressure.

Knowing the sequence of operation will give you the needed information to talk with a service technician and cut down on diagnostic costs.

Try looking on the back of the furnace access panel for both model number and a diagnostic schematic. This will confirm what the flashing 3 code means for your unit.

Sorry, without knowing the model number, this is the best I can do for you. Good Luck!

SOURCE: goodman gmp075-3 led blinks 5 times

I Also have the same and other problems with my furnace model # GDS80703AXBB. First the LED kept blinking 4 times and I too jumped the primary limit, that didn't kelp. After several attemps I moved the wires going to the circut board and everything starting working again. After a week It stopped working again, so I pulled the plug out of the circut board checked all wires for for a bad connection plugged it back in. Now the LED blinks 6 times again I move the wires. Then the LED blinks 3 times. Then the transformer burns out. I have burned out 2 transformers and I have ordered a new circut board.

SOURCE: furnace won't stay running

1
1 FLASH
Furnace fails to operate.
• Integrated control module
diagnostic LED is
flashing ONE (1) flash.
• Furnace lockout due
to an excessive
number of ignition
“retries” (3 total)1.
• Failure to establish flame.
Cause may be no gas to
burners, front cover
pressure switch stuck open,
bad igniter or igniter
alignment, improper orifices,
or coated/oxidized or
improperly connected flame
sensor.
• Loss of flame after establishment.
Cause may be
interrupted gas supply, lazy
burner flames (improper gas
pressure or restriction in flue
and/or combustion air
piping), front cover pressure
switch opening, or improper
induced draft blower
performance.
• Locate and correct gas
interruption.
• Check front cover
pressure switch
operation (hose, wiring,
contact operation).
Correct if necessary.
• Replace or realign
igniter.
• Check flame sense
signal. Sand sensor if
coated and/or oxidized.
• Check flue piping for
blockage, proper
length, elbows, and
termination.
• Verify proper induced
draft blower performance.

SOURCE: 1993 goodman status light 4 times blinking

I have a goodman GMP075-3 that won't turn on. I think it is the pressure switch since I do not have a vent blockage. What is a venter and where can I find it??

SOURCE: Carrier Furnace 58gs075-1 Circuit board issues...

I cant see your wire diagram but trace the circut your talking about. I believe it usually goes through a series of safety switches. Put your VOM across each individual switch. If you get 24 out from the board the first 1 you check and get 24v is open and not feeding back to the board is out. FIND out why. the switch could be bad but it may be indicating a more involved problem, just look aroeund for chared wires or tell tell signes of flame roll out or if its an open (fuse link) suspect what can cause an over heat condition anythign from a bad board or too long an off cycle before the indoor fan comes on ect. PONIT IS Once you come across the cause may not be the reason.
Please grade me accordingly and if you need more I need more info from you.

Furnace pilot won't stay on.

This can be a number of things;
1. Thermostat is not programmed properly and all your doing is rebooting it
2. Bad electric ignitor for the furnace
3. Wiring is wrong from thermostat to furnace or vice versa

Goodman furnace cacf030a2a fan seems to come in but no pilot light... Help??

might need to bleed the gas line at the furnace, if it has not ran in some time the gas gets weak and will not support the flame needed to keep the pilot light lit

Why would my Goodman LP furnace CAPF1824B6CA hum, but not kick on?

most furnaces no longer have a pilot, they are all electronic ignition. first thing to come is the inducer motor. if that is what is humming, then either the run capacitor is shot, or theres an issue with the motor itself

Where is the pilot light on a Goodman LP furnace CAPF1824B6CA

I could not find that exact model but I don't think it has a pilot. I think what you have is a faulty igniter.(its a glow plug)

You need to find it-should be on rt side just in front of a burner venturi. Unplug it and check for continuity.

We have a goodman unit that is both a/c and heat model #PGB048125-1 how do I light the pilot?

if you have a newer high efficiency furnace there is no pilot light. They are all electronic ignition

How do you light the furnace of a goodman ez 1625

We have not lit pilot lights ourselves since 1978 when they outlawed standing pilots in Ca for furnaces. We have electronic ignitions of spark oror hot surface ignition, neither of which can be manually lit.
Do you get any fan action if you flip the fan on from auto?if so, you have power and 24v control power too, I would start there.

Tempstar pilot turns off

Based on your model number this furnace does not have a pilot light, instead it uses a hot surface igniter.typically it glows and when it gets hot enough the gas valve will open and the burners will light. When the igniter starts to go bad it will glow but not get hot enough to open the gas valve. If your furnace lights and the quickly goes out the flame sensor maybe dirty.

Goodman furnace model # GMNT100-4B On vacation neighbor checked house house filled with gas. He shut off main and furnace. Came home turned on gas to everything except furnace. All good. Furnace will not...

from my experience with goodman units ,it could have been a gas supply problem there are so many protective sensors that i dont think it is the unit by the way is it electronic ignitor or pilot

Goodman Heater

This furnace has a diagnostic light on the control board found in the lower section of the furnace. Pilots are a thing of the past and your system has a glow ignitor. Look thru a small viewing port to see how many blinks are being displayed. Then remove the access panel and on the reverse side of it is a diagnostic chart that will tell you where to start looking. I would suggest you make sure the air filter is clean and that the condensation is being removed. Recycle the furnace with either the breaker or emergency switch. You can cycle the furnace with the front cover off if you tape the door switch closed. It may be easier to view the sequence of operation to pick up on where the fault is occuring.
