Hi,
did you charge your battery full ? if the battery is not charged enough, it will not drive the shutter opener motor perfectly, and if any type of dirt or friction on the shutter drive gears this will happen, please check the shutter movement by removing the lens.

SOURCE: nikon d40

Take the lens off and continue pressing the shutter untill it doesn't react anymore, you should then have a normal menu without the error message.Put your lens on and you're all sorted.Cheaper and less hassle than sending it to Nikon.

Error please shutter release button again

Hi.
This is a common problem with some Nikon models.
In this case, the D3200 normally shows this error mesage due a broken part in the shutter system or mirror box.

How to set up ml-l3 remote control nikon D3200

Set the camera to one of the remote modes. The quick-response remote mode fires the camera when you push the button on the remote, just as if you were pushing the shutter release button on the camera. The delayed response remote mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before firing the camera.

See "Release Mode" beginning on page 31 of the manual: http://cdn-10.nikon-cdn.com/pdf/manuals/dslr/D3200_EN.pdf

I have a nikon d90,when i pressed shutter button ,it is giving err message then i press second time it is not giving err message but not taking the photo.

This is an indication that the camera is not "talking" to the lens correctly. When you press the shutter button, the camera tries to focus, set light levels, and then shoot the picture. If it can't focus or set F-stop and shutter speed, then it can't shoot the picture and gives you the error indication. SO
1. You need to make sure the lens is an automatic lens capable of working with the D90. 2. You can take the lens off and back onto the camera a few times in case its a dirty contact issue or just didn't seat correctly. 3. Set the D90 to manual and make sure you move the AF selector on the front to M. Then you would manually adjust all the settings. That should take the auto-coupling out of the picture (pun intended)
4. If it still shows error when in total manual mode, there may be something wrong in the camera itself. Before giving up, do a total system reset on the D90 (I assume you have the manual).

My Nikon D40X shows an Error for the shutter release. It says "Error. Press shutter release button again." When I push it again, it keeps giving me the same error. Is there a way to fix it without sending...

Hello. I have the D40X myself and I have had success by going into the menu and locating the reset button. What this does is return the camera to the settings that it had the day it came out of the box. Joe

Error Message

Try to take off the battery and reset the camera. You can also try to remove the lens and check the mirror opening..see if there is some thing stuck there. You can try to click the shutter while the lens is removed. If this procedure didn't work I suggest calling Nikon for further repairs.
