Had similar problems to this after changing the printer driver.

Suggest latest printer driver from HP (for your operating system) - better to use this than the one that is provided by Mr Gate's crew)

Keeps printer page after page of nonsense try resetting doesn't help

Check your drivers. This is common when printing a PS (post script) job. Try PCL drivers. I have found this to be a big problem when printing a .PDF through PS.

Whenever I turn the printer on it just keeps printing little weird symbols like one or two lines per page and then goes to the next page and does the same thing just different symbols and it goes on and on...

There is a job in the print queue. At the start of a print job a code is sent saying print the following data as graphics because you have turned the printer off it thinks that all the data is text. You need to delete the job in the print queue. Select the printer in Control Panel>Printers and it should show you a list of print jobs. Delete them

Keeps printing letters and symbols rather than receipe

reinstall the software from a fresh download from the web

get the reset routine from the epson site...when you turn it on you must hold some stupid button combination to reset...

find it on the web

HP 8250 Prints wierd stuff on computer boot up

Used HP's chat, they helped walk me through it. NO CHARGE! You push the 'on' button for 45 seconds after you disconnect all the cables. Plug in the power cable only. Then print a test page. If that works, plug in the USB. Should fix the problem. I'd recommend working with HP, as they can check the internals on your machine while you chat with them.
