Gud day sir,i reformated my hp pavilion t2250 but no audio devices found.

Yes, this happens dani_cueva.

It's no big deal, just download, then install the appropriate audio driver from HP Support,

HP Support > Pavilion dv9000t Notebook PC > Software and Drivers Downloads, Vista operating system,

Left-click on the + sign next to - Driver - Audio

Left-click right on the blue file name - Conexant High-Definition Audio Driver

You'll be taken to another page. On this page go down to the heading - Details and specifications
To the right of - File name: click on the blue - sp35849.exe [1/1, 3.57M]

A small window will pop up, Opening sp35849.exe
Left-click on - Save File

Another small window will pop up.
Write down what is in the top header of this window. This is where the file will download to.

It may state Desktop, or My Documents, or Downloads in the wording.
{Desktop, or Documents, or Downloads, for Win Vista, and Win7}

Desktop: The file - sp35849.exe will be on your desktop screen. (With a yellow folder icon next to it)

My Documents: Left-click on Start, then on My Documents.
{Documents: Left-click on the Windows logo button, then on Documents, for Vista and Win7}

Downloads: Left-click on Start, then on My Documents. Double-Click on Downloads.

{Left-click on the Windows logo button, then on Documents. Double-Click on Downloads, for Vista and Win7}

When you see the file name Double-Click right on it.
Follow the easy instructions of the Installation Wizard.
(Or find the file with .exe behind it, and double-click on this file)

Restart your computer if not asked to do so.

For XP there are two driver files listed. If you have a Conexant audio device, you have to download, and install the second audio file first -
Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp32646)

Then download, and install the top driver file -
Conexant High Definition Audio Driver

[ A Driver is a small piece of software that allows the operating system (WinXP, Win Vista, Win7) to 'communicate' with a device.
With no driver Windows won't see the audio device installed ]

Upon installed Windows Seven to an HP Pavilion a1720n PC, the network drivers refuse to function and an obvious solution is not in sight on the manufacturers website. Looking for assistance.

Unfortunately, it is the PC manufacturer's "duty" to provide updated drivers for it's units. However, with Microsoft pumping out new OS's every couple years in their effort to justify their existence, many manufacturers are refusing or delaying driver upgrades for their machines. It is fully understandable, given the multitude of machines that must be supported. On the other hand, for just that reason, drivers may be in the works, but the manufacturer may not have gotten them posted to the website yet. It is always a good idea to check the manufacturers website for driver support before purchasing and installing a new OS. You MAY be able to find a workable driver by looking at the System Information printout and trying to determine the manufacturer and version of the network chipset on the MB. A Google search will often locate standalone drivers that can be loaded and tried.

Windows XP and 7 are not suported at all for your PC, You can only use Vista with supported drivers.
You may be able to download drivers direct from the chipset makers.
Your motherboard chipsets are..
Northbridge: Intel 945G
Southbridge: ICH7DH
The motherboard is the ASUS P5LP-LE
You can download some of your drivers here

I have sent a word document created in vista, and have sent it to an XP user. They cannot open or view the document. How do I change the settings in Vista to resend the document?

You need to make sure that the file extension is correct, for example .doc because there are others that a .docx extension as well. One thing is that make sure whenever you are saving a word document try to save it as Word 97-2003 document, in that way it can open to any other Microsoft Word application without thinking what kind of operating system does the computer have.

I/O error. HP 1720n won't boot

Run diagnostics on the hard drive (Normally provided either in the F8 or F12 boot menus) and se if you get a failure.

If the drive passes diagnostics, boot to the Vista DVD and run the repair option. (Note: you may have to the Vista repair process 4 or 5 times if there are multiple errors to be resolved)
