Is a gold star dehumidifier supose to be noise

Hi,
There are many reasons why a dehumidifier will not work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrong with their dehumidifier

When the compressors start to go bad they often start to get very loud also...the cost to replace the compressor will probably be more then a new unit...

Yes they should last longer than that, but the sad thing is that they don't make anything like they used too...just check out all the problems in this site for a few minutes...most of the problems should never happen...

Hi... I've researched for answers to your questions and I've found out that Walmart and Gold Star sell dehumidifiers. Visit Walmart here. Gold Star Appliances here. Hope this helps... :D

It's low on freon

you can patch the leak with some marine epoxy from any hardware store or also some weldit.

Try going to the manufacturer's web site. Hook into Support , or Downloads. Then look for the operating manuaal. Or, in their site, Search for the manual. This often works.

sounds like a sealed system issue it has a 5 yr. warrenty on the sealed system, cost to repair might mean an new one instead
