Max harvest cycle just keeps it in a harvest longer. if you set the freeze setting to its lowest point and ice is still to thick then replace the freeze stat.

SOURCE: scotsman icemachine m# DCE33A-1WB ice cubes are hollow

Have several of these machines here. The cube size control and the hot gas valve are common problems. I've had several that had one or the other. Generally if the cubes are forming and not harvesting the cube size control is likely the culprit. If no ice is forming then the hot gas valve may be leaking by or several of my machines have had leaks around this valve. The replacement part is not the same as the OEM part.

The charge is tricky and no access valves on this machine. Weighing in the charge is preferred.

Low room temperature - Most Scotsman ice makers won't produce ice when the temperature is below 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure the machine is in a room or setting that is warmer. ... Faulty thermistor - A bad thermistor usually causes the bin to fill with too much ice.

Ice getting to thick and not dumping

go to the freeze timer which has off and on dip switches. take some freeze time out by moving the first switch to off this will shorten freeze time. Also check the harvest assist solenoid and plunger when it go's into harvest. make sure the machine is cleaned and check the cube plate to make sure that none of the plates are not loose this will cause ice to freeze between the loose spots and will not let ice come off the plate.

Excessive Water Overflow

reduce the water pressure at the inlet valve so the trough fills up during harvest but doesn't overflow too much. There is a restrictor you can put in the valve entry, or you can just turn the tap to partly close it.

Cme 506 cubes too small

turn ice bridge thickness screw clockwise to thicken and counterclockwise to get thinner. Do not turn anymore than about 1/8 turn between freeze cycles. the adjustment screw is very finicky and requires patience in setting properly. the distance from the bridge thickness gauge to freeze platen is approximately 1/4 - 5/16 of an inch.

Scotsman icemachine m# DCE33A-1WB ice cubes are hollow

There is a cube size thermostat that energizes the timer. If it has been energizing early try a thicker setting on the cube size. If still gives problems ... your trouble was back in Feb I assume in cold weather.. If the machine is not in a room where the temp stays above 65'f this can also cause premature harvesting as you discribe also. Also if you are loosing water from the water curtian not sealing off it will cause the problem you discribe because the water is dripping off and out before it can freeze. Any futher questions please post. If this helps you understand your trouble please rate me as high as yuou can, thank you for using fixya

Scotsman ice machine problems.

Well it is making ice cubes alright just too thick right? I would give it a good cleaning with nickleguard and retry. If it is still doing the same thing I would replace the ice thickness switch.
