Adding stitches in a knitting in round sweater for back only section when garment has been knit up to the underarm

I would divide the 185, by 14 and then increase one stitch after that many stitches, the increase will be even and it may look like it is part of the pattren.

I have Aran wool and want to knit a simple adult over-sweater. How many stitches do I cast on and what size needles, please.

You need a pattern to follow. For one thing, yarns vary in thickness, so the number of stitches needed will be different dependent on the yarn thickness, not to mention the adult size you are seeking.

You should probably knit a sample piece probably 12" x 12" and count the number of rows per inch and the number of stitches per inch in order to determine how many you will need width wise and length wise for your garment.

I Just finished the back of a sweater and it is way too big. Does that mean my needle is too large? My gauge was correct.

If the gauge is correct, the sweater should be the right
size. When you check the gauge, you need to check both the width and length. If you knit loosely, it will also make the sweater too large. You can try knitting tighter or decrease the needle size until the gauge is correct both directions.

I am looking for a 4 ply sweater pattern raglan sleeve

Check at hobby stores that sell yarn, ie Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc. There are usually a lot of booklets or pamphlets with patterns. Even some yarn brands include patterns with their skeins.

Hi. I have a Bond, too. Even if you get a formula to recalculate the numbers of stitches per inch/cm I would suggest that you do a gauge swatch with the Bond before you start knitting the actual sweater. There is a terrific group of fellow Bond machine enthusiasts and experts here: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/incrediblesweatermachineclub/info

They have free patterns, tips, and advice. They have some manuals posted, too. :)
