Question about HP Photosmart M407 Digital Camera
LCD's are easy repair. You will have to find a spare part. The good news is that m305, m307, m407, and m417 are interchangeable. Find one (broken camera on ebay with an intact LCD). Once you have your spare part, remove the six screws on the outside of the camera. Pry open your camera to expose the inside of the camera. Remove the case to expose the LCD. There are two screws holding the aluminum frame around the LCD. Remove the screws and the frame. There is clip that hold the LCD in place and it is located on top of the lcd. Snap the LCD from the clip and it should flop over. There is a serial cable connection from the lcd to the circuit board of the camera. There are two flaps on the side of the connection. Push the flaps up to loosen the serial cable. Replace the LCD with the spare. Reassemble everything in reverse order.
