SMS Inbox My Blackberry 7290 started acting a little sluggish so I decided to delete all of my old SMS messages. I went to delete them and it had been about 15 minutes, it seemed stuck. I made the mistake of turining it of to try to "fix" it. It came back on and I still recieve messages and can send them, but it does not go into the normal inbox. I have to go to the sub-folder "SMS Inbox". Any help to have them go back to the Inbox when they are received and sent would be great!

you have to delete some sms, the phone memory is full, delete old sms, you will see the new.

you more than likely need service books. i have the same phone and have delt with the exact same issue. first take out the battery with the phone on and leave it out for 45 seconds. next open your messages and delete all that you can. you can highlight the date in your inbox and select menu and then delete prior and it will empty your inbox. this will work! thank you!!

Go to your inbox click the blackberry menu go to options and you'll either see dlete old messages, you'll be able to decide how many to keep or you'll see store for how many days select the option that will stop from deleting or save messages forever back out save the option and pull battery to reboot

1.In a messages list, click the trackwheel.
2.Click Compose SMS.
3.Click [Use Once].

4.Click SMS

5.Type the SMS-compatible phone number.

6.Click the trackwheel.

7.Click Continue.

8.Type a message.

9.Click the trackwheel.

10.Click Send.

If you have added contacts to the address book, you
can select a contact from the list after you click
Compose SMS.

To send an SMS message quickly from the phone, type
an SMS-compatible phone number. Click the
trackwheel. Click SMS<XXXXXXX>.

As far as separate SMS and e-mail icons, go to messages, press the Blackberry button, select Options. Select the "General Options". In the display, there is an option "SMS and Email Inboxes". If you select Separate, messages always will be separated into either an e-mail inbox or SMS inbox.

You'll need to reconnect it to blackberry desktop manager and reload the software. Using a USB cable. Reload a lower software version say v4.6.0.301 (platform 4.1.1.245). This should solve the problem you're having.

Open your address book and select the person you want to txt. Click the menu button, and select "SMS Text ..Name...".

Alternatively, open your inbox, press the menu button and select "Compose SMS Text", then choose the person you want to send it to.

If you receive a txt from someone else, all you have to do to txt them back is respond to it like you would a regular email.
