Magellan Roadmate I have reformatted the Internal Memory the GPS Receiver now does not have sound, language settings, and maps. I need to re-install the files of the Magellan Roadmate 360 Manager Software Program (that is not included in the box). I have asked assistance to Magellan, but they just want me to send them the Unit for repair, while the Unit is working, and it needs only to re-install the software on it. Can you help me to locate such software for download?

Providing you saved the SD card info as soon as you got it, reformat the SD card and copy the files over. Or find a friend that has the same unit and copy their files. Reformat your card before also.

you didnt back up the drivers and map?

well you will have to reinstall them now from the CD that came with the unit If you dont have one proof of purchase is required to get one

usually under settings, depending on maps installed

of course get to ur manufacturer page and look for download center
or u might need to upgrade it from there

I had the same problem caused by reformatting the internal memory and this is what I did which worked for me:

Make sure you remove any SD memory cards before trying this fix.

First: find the base maps (NA_BSMAP.mgi and NA_BSMAP.nlt)maps which are located in your computer in the Magellan Roadmate Manager (C:\ProgramFiles\Magellan\Magellan RoadMate Manager NA\Map\Basemaps)

Second: Connect your Roadmate with the USB cable to your computer.

Third: Plug in USB and power up your GPS. Cut and paste the two files mentioned above to your GPS (Devices with Removable Storage (example E:/). They are approximately 25 MB in size and will take a few minutes to copy.

Fourth: Unplug the USB cable and shut power off to the GPS.

Fifth: Power up the GPS and it should find the "base maps".

I think you are going to struggle here.
It may be possible to put the sounds back using the Magellan RoadMate PC application it is mentioned in the manual and on the web site http://www.magellangps.com/ but I cant see where to obtain it!

I checked P2P to see if the software was floating around but all I found were maps.

Sorry for all the links but I think you'd better be informed that this ain't a quick fix and contacting Magellan may be the only way.

Hi guyz I pretty much did the same thing!!! I bought this gps for my girlfriend for valentines from a friend and i was trying to restore it to its factory default and the only option i found was repair and i did an internal memory format like a ****! well everything seems to be fine but no audio at all! I've done lots of research and it seems to be that the only way to fix it is by restoring the sounds files but where can i get them? I MEAN magellan doesn't provide any support any more due to the unit is discontinued! I mean how messed up is that? AND why would they provide with such a horrible option? that's sad! Can anyone please please please help me? please I'm going crazy here! :(

As far as re-installing he maps, here's what I've found. I think this might help:
Locate the files that are loaded on the computer.Magellan Roadmate Manager example: C:\Program Files\Magellan\Magellan RoadMate Manager NA\Map\Basemaps
Copy all files. Make sure your Roadmate is connected and click on Example E:/Removable Disk and paste them with other files. It takes a few seconds to 1 minute to transfer the 25.5 mb file so don't unplug it until it is finished.

You'll have to obtain a copy of the Magellan Roadmate manager disks, load them into your computer, connect the GPS to your computer using the USB cable and the use the "Roadmate Manger settings" to change the language.
