Click the Forgot password link and provide them with the e-mail address you have on file with them to reset the password. You may have to answer a security question or two. Surely you know that information, right? If not, stay out of someone else's account!
It sounds like you are using the wrong password. Please advise what instant messaging service you are using (i.e skype, AIM, Facebook etc) and I should be able to provide instructions on resetting the password.
Double check that you are typing it correctly, or that your keyboard isn't set to another language. Usually there is a way to reset the password or answer your secret question. Often you would have already supplied a second or back-up e-mail address in case of this problem. Check for a "forgot password" type link.

Your situation might have happened during logging in or while using Find Friends.
If it had happened during logging in, then you need to provide the e-mail ID and the Password you provided during Facebook signup.My guess is you would have entered password of your mail account in Facebook.
If it is during 'Find Friends', then you might have entered wrong password for your mail id.
Make sure your ID and Password are correct and match. Normally your e-mail address is used to log in. If you fail click on the "forgot password" button and follow
Log out, then go to http://www.facebook.com/reset.php Enter your e-mail address to be sent a new password, then log into facebook with the new password and change your password in Account Settings to your old password.
Silly as the answer may be ddknox but the only way for you to delete it is to stop using it. The only way for an account to be deleted on Hotmail is that the user is supposed to be logged in. But your case here is different.
There is still one thing you can do other than the alternative email route when requesting for the new password.

Click Use my location information and secret answer to verify my identity.
In the Country/Region list, select your country or region, select your state, and then type your ZIP code( The postal code system that is used in the United States. The ZIPcode consists of a series of digits that are added to a postal address.The ZIP code is used to identify each postal delivery area for thepurpose of sorting mail.) or postal code( A series of letters and/or digits that are added to a postal addressand used by the postal service for the purpose of sorting mail.) if you’re prompted to do so. Ifyou've moved since signing up for your Windows Live ID, use thelocation information you last provided. If you've provided both a homeand work location, enter your home location.
In the Question area in the Secret Answer box, type your answer to the question.
Click Continue.
Enter and confirm a new password, and then click Continue.
If prompted, enter an alternate e-mail address(An alternate e-mail address is a secondary e-mail address registeredwith your Windows Live ID. If you forget your password, you can havethe password reset information sent to your alternate e-mail address.) and click Continue, or click Skip to bypass this step.
On the You've changed your password page, click Sign in to Windows Live.
when you log in to msn and you have entered your user name why dont you highlight forgot my password and then reset it with a new one it is better you reset it caused the password is no longer a password because every one else knows it now so i would suggest you to change your password.
