Re: won't wash, just sits there and electonic buzz noise

Went online, found out the gaskets can stick

removed bottom shroud from front, tilted machine for access, used pliers to turn shaft on motor to free it up.

works fine.
now i turn it on every week, just to keep it from sticking again

Indesit Dishwasher LS12-E2100. Lights work in door and there is a buzzing noise when the door is shut, but it won't fill with water, so it will not work.

Generic step 1: Clean the internal filter.

There are manuals and troubleshooting guides online. Go find them.

The buzzing noise may be a symptom of the problem. If the main motor cannot turn, it will stall and buzz. With the power disconnected and the unit pulled out, try to turn the main pump motor from the bottom (They are invariably in the center of the
unit on the bottom of the wash tub). If that turns freely, something else is buzzing which may or may not be a problem. Try to find out what is making the noise. Note: If you cycle the unit with it pulled out, it will be obvious if the motor can turn or not.

An old mechanics trick (Old trick, not mechanic): With the unit pulled out, and exhibiting the problem: Take a 1/4" wooden dowel (do not use metal!!) and press it against the little flap of your ear so as to cover your ear canal. Do not insert the dowel into your ear! The dowel will mechanically conduct sound to your ear. Now, with the dowel on your ear, probe around the bottom of the unit, listening to find the loudest buzz. You will quickly get the hang of it.

When you have found what is buzzing, you may have found your problem. You may not recognize whatever you find is buzzing. Consult the online documentation.

The buzzing may be the water inlet valve. It may be the pump motor that has ingested something that keeps the motor from turning. It may be something else.

I am guessing that the buzzing is not good, but it could be benign. When you have found the buzz, consult the manuals & troubleshooting for further instruction.

I have the feeling that this problem will ultimately be resolved by a service tech., but good luck anyway

Dishwasher has a bad smell in it. I did find a teabag on the bottom of it and removed it. But even after many washings the smell is still there. The dishes are being cleaned. Any suggestions?

Use vinegar in it over night You will need enough so that you can acutally see it cover the gasket material in the bottom of the tub. After that... start cycle and drain out vinegar. Start a cycle like you were going to do a regular wash. Open the machine when your sure there is water in the bottom of the machine. Add 1/4 cup bleach and 1/4 cup powdered dishwashing soap directly into the water let it wash normally. If you still have the nasty smell after this... the next thing to do is to purchase a mold and mildew remover / cleaner like "Mr Muscle" and spray it all over EVERYTHING on the inside of the machine until the bottle is half gone. Let this sit for 15 minutes... then start a normal wash but do NOT add soap or rinse conditioner. Unit is now ready for regular washing. You may get spotted glasses on the first wash.... but it should not repeat.

This should get rid of the musty odor.

Thanks for choosing FixYa, Kelly

My dishwasher is just 6 months old and started making a humming sound while washing in th wash cycle.

If you hear unusual noises during dishwasher operation, check to see if a dish or cup is loose and being knocked around during the wash cycle. If you hear grinding, grating, crunching or a buzzing sound, chances are a hard object has gone into the wash module. Once the object is ground up, the noises should cease.

Buzzing noise

i contacted danby and they told me that is how the unit was built. the buzzer would go off for about 1 minute and then would start up about 15 minutes later. I have decided not to buy any more products from this company. They should state this in their product literature.

BOSCH DW burned plastic smell, common problem?

I have this exact same smell issue from the back black panel at rear of dishwasher (free standing so easy to pinpoint. I replaced the old bosch with this Bosch (approx 12 months ago) for the same reason, and am extremely disappointed to have the same issue. It is almost as though the black insulation material is disintegrating? I wonder what it is made from? Smells noxious. It is very hot to touch during a cycle too. Good luck,
