Question about Whirlpool LHW0050PQ Front Load Washer

Leaking from the dispenser

My Whirlpool Front load washing machine only has one year old, it starts to have problem yesterday, the water is leaking substaintially from the dispenser. I removed the dispenser draw, and found the water is going down from the dispenser to the washing tube very slow, that is why the leak because the water is over flow.

What could cause it?

    How do you remove the drawer to clean out the dispenser? My machine is doing the same thing. We had several error codes over the past several weeks and would have to shut down and restart the machine or manually drain the water. Now there's water pouring from the dispenser everytime you turn the machine on. We don't use powdered detergent, only the HD liquid stuff.

    I hav the same problem. the dispenser is clean, I can remove it. the water is backing up the pipe leading down to the tub. what do I do?

Try to pull out your dispenser drawer gently to clean out thoroughy. If you cant succeed, use a tooth brush, see that the brush does not fall in. Probably you have dried powder blocking the passage, nothing else.

Why would the machine leak out the detergent drawer when filling?
When the machine starts to wash water passes into the detergent dispenser and carries the detergent into the drum, if the detergent outlet is blocked, or resticted, this will cause the water to leak out of the dispenser.

Check the dispenser to see if an accumulated crust of powder is clogging the outlet holes, most dispensers are removable for cleaning, check your machine instructions for details.

Our front load Whirlpool washer is about 9 years old and it leaks water onto the floor every time we use it. Can this be repaired and how costly is it fix?
I have a duet sport whirlpool two years old. The hose from the dispenser to the tub is frayed and broken allegedly due to worn out shocks (after two years?) The repair guy says $289 to fix a hose. Unbelievable! Could it be a design issuue?

My whirlpool duet washer will not completely drain the water out of the soap dispenser. It is five years old
You could have a clog in the housing underneath the dispenser where the water flows through a hose into the tub.
Pull the dispenser drawer completely out.
There is a tab that needs to be depressed to release the drawer and remove it.
Check the opening at the bottom of the housing just inside the dispenser housing opening to see if a small sock or garment is clogging this opening.
Reach down into this opening to see if an item is inside the hose.
This is the normal issue that will cause water to leak out of the dispenser housing.

Wash the dispenser drawer thoroughly with warm water. Make sure that you pull off the siphon covers and wash all siphon holes. This process is described in your owner's manual. Replace the dispenser drawer and try the washer again.

Water leak from front powder/conditioner drawer.
Completely remove the dispenser unit. look inside the recess you have just taken the dispenser drawer from and look up. You will find this is covered in muck. Clean it with an old toothbrush or something but do not use too mush pressure. This should solve your problem. If not then you will need to replace the dispenser unit completely
