Can you locate your model number inside the fresh food section around door frame? I believe you have the ice maker with the electronic eye and sounds like you need to follow these instructions so the ice maker works again. If I am wrong then please correct me by posting your model number that should look like this example=> 321.234567 Click Here=> Whirlpool Ice Maker Infrared Electronic Eye Technical Information I am here if you need to ask questions, Sea Breeze

My ice maker was making noises and I looked at it and a piece of ice was obstructing the ice ejector. I removed it and it worked fine for a week. Now it fills with water, freezes, but they are not...

there are plastic arms on the ice maker, sometimes they bend and get jammed or when the ice got stuck it did damage to the motor and it finally died,if it's filling,a heater on the ice maker comes on,loosens up the cubes, the motor turns and dumps out the cubes,it sounds like you have a bad ice maker

Why won't ice maker produce ice?

The first image below provides a diagnostic procedure for the optics of the ice maker system. I recommend checking the optics first. If the optics components are okay, then the next step would be to check the ice maker module. The test procedure for the ice maker module is provided in the second image below. This test requires placement of an insulated jumper wire in test points of the ice maker module. You should conduct this test only if you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely complete the procedure. Make sure that the refrigerator is unplugged when accessing the ice maker and jumping the test points. The third image below provides a troubleshooting chart based on the results of the test described above. If you are able to test the ice maker, follow the troubleshooting steps based on the results of the test. You should only replace components if you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely complete the repair. If you need more help with this repair

My icemaker will get cold but wont make ice.

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

Although this is for troubleshooting non optical sensor refrigerators:

The troubleshooting procedures for cycling the unit are exactly the same,
The ice maker module part number for the 120V unit is PN 628366 (do a net search for this part number and save yourslef a bumch of money if you fetermine your moduleis bad) You start the harvest cycle by removing the front cover and then jumpering test points T to H. The white dial will begin to move if there is power to the module. Remove the jumper when the sweep arm reaches 5" o'clock and let the ice maker automatically cycle. It should harvest, and fill in on complete turn of the white dial. If it does not fill you probably have a water supply or water valve problem. There is an inline input power fuse for the ice maker. Power should come in via the red wire.

Mind you the ice maker has an internal thermostat behind the module assy that has to reach 15 deg F to start the harvest cycle. When you jumper T to H you are bypassing the thermostat. If the thermostat fails or the unit does not reach 15 deg F then the harvest cycle will never begin.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Ice Maker Dead

Yes maybe, but we can try to see if it is the ice maker alone is the problem. Try filling with water and let freeze while turned on. If ice maker dumps ice into ice bin then the reason would most likely be the water control valve. The problem with these ice makers are that they are electronic and have no replacable parts. What ever you find please let me know. The part number for the ice maker is Click Here=> WR30X10093 If the ice maker test works then the water valve should open but don't the replacement water control valve is Click Here=> WR57X10032 Please rate my solution after I have helped you resolve the problem and communicate with me. The water will not come into the icemaker

On your model there are a couple possibilities. the most likely is the dual water control valve itself. The valve has two sides, one for dispenser and other for ice maker. You may test ice maker by filling with tap water and let freeze. If when frozen the ice maker dumps ice into ice bin and does not refill the for sure water control valve Part number Click here=> 61005626-2 the next more unlikely would be the Ice maker Module Click Here=> D7824706Q If need you may contact me here on Fixya or my Forum=> Appliance 911 My contact information is located above the Fixya Ad on my blog here=> Sea Breeze Appliance Parts and Technical Services, www.pcappliancerepair.com

Ice maker doesnot work ge artic profile

Your model has an electronic ice maker part number Click Here=> WR30X10093 When the electronic ice maker fails you usually need to replace the complete ice maker. You can test the ice maker by filling the tray with tap water. If the water freezes and then drops the ice then the water control on the back of your refrigerator is the reason. The water control valve is Click Here=> WR57X10032 Either way let me know your results, Thank You, Sea Breeze
