Re: not restoring...

Sounds like it put a bad firm ware on your ipod

force reset it then put it into disk mode

now depending on how good you are at screwing things up (i can help) use ipod wizard (google it) to screw with your firmware as much as possible (it can't get any worse right ?) and if you are good at screwing things up your new firmware should be bad enough so that your ipod just flat doen't work

if so force it into disk mode again and try restoring

I still need help

Here's a link to Apple's site on how to restore your iPod: A local Apple store should be able to help you with this also. If you don't have one close to you, feel free to get ahold of one of our techs at Wired Extreme.

You need to do a 'Restore'. Connect your iPod with the cable that came with it to the USB port on your computer. In iTunes, click and (Restore). This will rebuild all the software on the iPod and restore your songs. Hope this helps.

Updating and Restoring iPod touch Software You can use iTunes to update or reinstall iPod touch software, restore default settings, and delete all data on iPod touch. ââ If you update, the iPod touch software is updated but your downloaded applications, settings, and songs are not affected. ââ If you restore, the latest version of iPod touch software is reinstalled, default settings are restored, and data stored on iPod touch is deleted, including downloaded applications, songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar information, and any other data. In iTunes 7.7, you can also restore from a backup without deleting data stored on iPod touch. Note: Deleted data is no longer accessible via the iPod touch user interface, but is not permanently erased from your iPod touch until it is overwritten by new data. For information about permanently erasing all content and settings, see “Resetting iPod touch” on page 94. Update or restore iPod touch: 1 Make sure you have an Internet connection and have installed the latest version of iTunes from 2 Connect iPod touch to your computer. 3 Select iPod touch in the iTunes sidebar and click the Summary tab. 4 Click “Check for Update.” iTunes tells you if there’s a newer version of the iPod touch software available. 5 Click Update to install the latest version of the software. Problem uploading songs on iPod Shuffle

Are you running the most current version of iTunes? If not try upgrading. After that, try seeing if there is an firmware upgrade. If there is, try upgrading that too. Then try reuploading songs. If it is still not working, it might be damaged or just not working anymore. Only use Itunes when uploading songs to ipod regardless of type.

Itouch unlock password

if you do not know your passcode then make sure it is plugged in 2 the cp and make sure the itouch is on the screen where it says enter passcode. then you hold the power and home button at the same time until the itouch completely turns off and then you keep on holding both buttons until the apple logo again. and after that appears, you let go of the power button but you keep holding the home button until the itouch says its connected to itunes. and then you are allowed to access it on itunes. then you need to restore it and it will restore ur hole ipod and there will not be a passcode anymore

Ipod Mini - Disk Error "cannot be read from or written to"

you need to format, full format, use windows explorer, right click on ipod then format, not quick, then load itunes, should give you the option to restore, do this, then should automatically sync music as long as you don't tick the manual manage box.
