Check the drainage of the machine.nothing like stagnant water sitting in the hoses and bottom of machine to cause smells.first check the penny / button trap for coins or debris as this will cause unsatisfactory emptying .do a rinse cycle with no cloths in machine.Get some calgon or anything that removes washing machine or dishwasher lime scale.then do a full wash without clothes on 60 degrees or above with small amount of bleach and lime scale remover.make sure the room is well ventilated.never overfill machine with dirty laundry when washing as this prevents the rinse cycles from removing bad water completely.try leaving the door slightly open between washes but only if you have no pets or children to prevent build up of damp spores.
SOURCE: Clothes Smell Musty and Damp
It sounds like a build up of washing residue. Clean inside the door seal and do a very hot wash with a bit of washing powder and no clothes. Repeat this once a week until smell has gone.
SOURCE: Horrible smell coming from the washing machine
Do a wash with just bicarbonate soda then wipe it out, including any rubber seals
SOURCE: smell coming from insie washing machine
This is usually caused by mostly using low temperature washes. The detergent manufacurers don't tell you, but low temperatures don't kill the bacteria present on most clothes, so they breed and and multiply in nice warm moist washing mashines. The cure is to do a "maintenance wash" every so often, which is the hottest wash the machine can do, and this will kill the bacteria. Also adding washing soda to this wash will help to freshen it up.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question!!!!
