I am trying to down load my new program off of a dvd. I am stuck. How do you do it

If your computer doesn't open the setup file automatically when the DVD is inserted, you can always insert the DVD, open My Computer (Windows)/ Finder (Mac), find the disk or disk drive, click it and open the contents of the DVD, find the setup/install file and manually run it.
Hopefully this helps and if there is another error please post it.

I installed quicken 2011, but am unable to turn the quicken sound on, Iused quicken help, which told me to go to file menue>preference, I did that but when I opened file i did not have the...

You can follow the following steps to have the sound enabled in Quicken 2011.

  1. Ensure your Quicken program has been updated to the latest release.
  2. From the Quicken Edit menu, choose Preferences, and then choose Quicken Program.
  3. Select Setup, and then select the Turn on Quicken sounds checkbox, and then click OK.
  4. If the issue persists, make sure that your speakers have not been muted and that the sound volume is correct (refer to your operating system's Help for instructions).
Quicken sounds will only be available if logged in using the same user profile that was used to install Quicken.
  5. If Quicken is unable to produce sounds despite following the above instructions, Reinstall quicken in selective startup.

Note: This process requires you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer in Selective Startup Mode, and then install Quicken.
To restart the computer in Selective Startup mode:
  1. Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and select Run.
  2. In the Open field, enter MSCONFIG, and then click OK.
  3. On the General tab, select Selective Startup, and then select Load System Services (ensuring all others are unchecked).
  4. On the Services tab, in the area below the scrolling list, be sure that Hide all Microsoft Services is not selected.
  5. Click Disable all to clear all selected services.
  6. Select Windows installer, and then click OK.
  7. When prompted, click Restart.
  8. When your computer restarts, run the Quicken installation from the CD-ROM.
When you place the Quicken installation CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive, the Quicken installation should start automatically. If it does not, you can start it manually:
    1. Close all open applications.
    2. Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and select Run.
    3. In the Open field, enter D:\INSTALL.EXE, where D is the name of your CD-ROM drive.
    4. Click OK, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
After the installation process completes, return your system to its previous configuration:
  1. Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and select Run.
  2. In the Open field, enter MSCONFIG, and then click OK.
  3. On the General tab, select Normal Startup.
  4. Click OK, and then click Restart.
the installation is not successful, try installing from your hard disk. For instructions see below.

Copying Quicken to your hard drive and installing it from there resolves many of the issues that can occur during installation.
  1. Right-click on your desktop and select New > Folder. This creates a folder named New Folder on the desktop.
  2. Place the Quicken CD-ROM in your computer's CD-ROM drive. If you are prompted to install Quicken, click No or Cancel.
  3. Click the Microsoft® Windows® Start button and select My Computer.
  4. Right click the CD-ROM drive with the Quicken CD and select Copy.
  5. Open the New Folder created in step 1.
  6. Select the Edit menu and select Paste. This copies the contents of the Quicken program from the CD-ROM to the hard disk. When the copy is complete, the DISK1 and Custom folders appear in the New Folder window.
  7. Double-click the DISK1 folder to display the contents, and then double-click Setup.exe.
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions.

I have acer5735z and its very slow

Try this... go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools.. click on disk clean up and place check marks in each of the boxes, it will ask you if you are sure, click yes. This will delete all unused and unneeded files from your computer. You can also go to start and in the search box type run, click on run and in the small box type msconfig. This will bring up a dialog box with tabs at the top, click on the tab that says startup. you will again have small boxes with check marks next to them. uncheck everything that you recognize and do not need on start up. Your programs will still be there, they just won't load with windows and slow your system down. Do Not uncheck anything having to do with windows, you will see this under the file location, it will say something like C:/windows.... dont touch these files, leave those checked. Once you complete this it will ask to reboot, go ahead and do this and upon restart your system should be running quicker!

We cannot uninstall vocaloid 2. The operating system is windows xp

It may be running from startup.
You may be able to uninstall in safe mode (F8)
Or use msconfig to stop the program from loading when windows starts (run box / msconfig / startup folder, check for the software and stop)
You can also use CCleaner to uninstall / edit the startup folder

Instructions for digital photo keyring

It should be listed ethier under my computer or down near the clock on the remove hardware safely wizard. That icon looks like a card with an arrow over it.

From the start bar, open "My Computer."

Double click the keychain; It may be listed under a generic name like removable disk F: then double click the Viewer/picture icon.

With the software open, click on Load to view all

If the screen is empty, no photos are stored in memory.

To add a new image into the Click Add Image
images have to be .jpg, .bmp or .gif

If the device is not listed, uninstall the software. Totally shut down without the keychain in the usb.

Plug the keychain into a main usb, not a router. Turn your computer back on. Turn off virus programs. Reinstall using hardware wizard and load the software when the wizard asks drivers.

If the hardware isn't identified, run the wizard from the control panel add remove hardware.

This is the best I can do with no OS or product name. I hope it helps. I can help others better in the future if you rate this answer because it will help me know if I'm on the right track. Thanks, have a good new year.

Unexpected shut down when clicking to another area My QUICKEN 2001 has began to shut down when I click to go to another Savings to Checking, for instance. Now it seems that every time I click...

If Quicken is shutting down you won't be able to access your accounts. You need to repair the software first.
All you can do is trying to start in safe mode by pressing F8 on startup and check if Quicken can start in safe mode.
If the problem started recently, you can try doing a system restore to a date before the problem started. You find System restore from Start button at:
Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
If that does not fix the problem, then you need to reinstall Quicken using the software CD and your licence number. If you choose to reinstall on top of the existing installation you wont loose any setting (repair).
If quicken does not reinstall from current account, then create a new account with administrator privileges and then reinstall quicken from the new account.
If you are still not able to remove and reinstall the software you can try using the free Microsoft utility available here to remove recently installed software.
Note: A new Quicken setup does not delete your data, but there is the chance that data had been previously damaged. In that case you can use a recent backup, or try recovering damaged data, see Basic troubleshooting to correct data file damage

Can anyone tell me how to get sonic update off my computer screen, i tried everything i could think of but it comes back when i try to cancel it, it says there is another program running that is updating...

I assume you have tried the Add/Remove Programs routine...and didn't work.

A second solution is to disable the Sonic Update service that starts up when you computer starts. You can do this by going to Start, click on Run, and then typing in MSCONFIG and pressing Enter.

Click on the Startup tab and you’ll see a list of all of the processes that start up when your computer starts up. You can uncheck any service to prevent it from loading during bootup. For the Sonic software, search for any startup item named sgtray, or that has the words Sonic Update Manager or Update Manager related to the path your application is installed.
Also, if you see isuspm or issch, uncheck them too. You may also see something called “UpdateService” or “InstallShield” in the command column, make sure to un-check those. Don't worry about disabling an important process as windows will give you an error message, so unless you get an error, it is safe do do it. You can always check again any processes you need.

A third solution is to clean up the Windows Installer files in Windows. Sometimes they get corrupted and cause problems that translate into popups on your screen.
You can download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility straight from Microsoft and hopefully it will help you even if all of the above have failed.

Hope you get your annoying popup killed!!
