"COF. BEANS EMPTY" message

After 15 or so seconds of grinding the beans, the above error message shows on the display. There are sufficient beans in the hopper. The door leading from the grinder to the brew unit has not opened and the loose ground coffee is still behind it (in the area of the grinder). The elecro-magnet that opens the door is still fully operational. I am unable to determine exactly what causes this message to display and what component causes the electromagnet to open the door at the proper time (I think they might be one and the same)? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I can hear the grinder grinding the beans, but then it stops and sends the message "Coffee beans empty" (Grains vide). I emptied the coffee hopper, including all residual ground beans in the grinder, then tried again... I successfully ground up beans for one cup of coffee. However, the next time I tried, I got the same message "Coffee beans empty" and I could not make more coffee.

Saeco digital Italia is giving me the "grinder empty" message even though beans are in the hopper. I've cleaned out the the ground coffee chute several times but each time the chute fills with ground coffee and then the grinder times out with the "grinder empty" message. I've tried a coarser grind setting but the problem continues. Is there a way to test the doser to make sure the mechanism that allows ground coffee to enter the brew group is not somehow defective?

I have removed all the beans an grounds from the grinder and cleaned the brew unit completely but the problem continues.

There are a micro switch in the machine after the grinder, that will give signal to the electric card when enough beans are in the hole. If this micro switch is broken then you get this message.

You have to replace this micro switch.

Its telling me that coffee beans are empty...but they are makes grinding noise but the message keeps popping up beans are empty

You have one of 2 problems either the grinds chute to the brew unit is blocked, or the grind is too fine.

Machine says beans are empty and will not brew.

Try adjusting the grinder coarser when it is running. Either the grind is too fine or the grinds chamber is blocked, remove the brew unit and check the gate to the grinder on the inside right.

Ground coffee will not dispense

The beans are hanging up in the hopper and not falling down into the grinder...... wiggle it, give the beans a push, or go to a bean that is not so sticky....

Coffee beans empty but not

Could Be one of 2 things, the grind is set too fine and the beans are not getting to the millstones, or there is something blocking the chute for the grounds.

Coffee beans empty

Coffee beans empty is caused by the grinder running for about 15 seconds without filling the doser chamber. Sounds like you have a blockage in you grind passage. Try removing the brew group. Then inside on the roof of the machine where the brew unit was setting there is a drop chute where the coffee is dropped into the brew unit. From the left side of the drop chute pull down and back, and it will drop coffee. This will clear an opening that relieves pressure on the passage. There is a passage inside the drop chute area that goes to the grinder. Vacuum it out. It will be on the right side of the drop chute.
Once that is cleared go to the bean hopper. There is a lever on the right side of the bean hopper. Push the lever back to the largest number. You can push the lever to a larger number any time but it has to be grinding to pull to a smaller number. Now replace everything and make your coffee. Once you have made your coffee you can pull back to a number that was higher than the one you had it on, but only when the grinder is running.

Grinder runs with NO beans inside

Fill beans before they run out!
If you hear the grinder running empty, press the same button you pressed to start making coffe to cancel the current cup -or, if some beans were ground, stop the water a bit earlier to make a shorter coffe using the same method (press the button you pressed to start the cup). The auto-detect of beans missing is a very minor and largely useless feature.

Make sure you not get any water in the grinder, if you got water in the grinder then you have to clean it.

You can try to set grinding to coarse and try to make 3 cup of coffee.

Coffee Beans Empty - but the hopper is full!

Caffeind...the problem is likely still some bean remnants stuck in a switch which is causing the problem. Get some newspaper and open it up on a flat surface. Invert the grinder and give it a couple of thumps on the newspaper. The chips should loosen up and fix it. Remember, beans are both sharp in shape and oily in makeup...perfect for getting stuck.
