I would suggest you re-install the keyboard driver as a first move.
Navigate to the keyboard on Device Manager and make sure no problems are highlighted.
If all is OK go to the manufactures support website and download the new software.
I have toshiba laptop satalite with 2 operation windows 2000 and HP windows running thus slowing the system down consiradably. Idealy would like to delete the windows 2000 professinal. Please help
You'll probably have to download/reinstall the drivers for these two devices. I doubt they were included on the system restore pack. This is the link for Toshiba's notebook support page. Choose your machine and navigate to the driver download selections to see if you can get the wireless adapter driver. You'll probably have to download the driver for the keyboard from that manufacturer's site.
If you have Windows installation CD and the product installation code then - Install Windows XP then download the device drivers for your model laptop and
install them on your laptop. You can use a another computer with Internet access
then copy and install them on your laptopYou can download the drivers from the Toshiba WEB support/download
page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP or Vista Windows version
of the drivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download the

OK, well since system restore has been damaged and no longer usable. There is only one thing you can do, and that is to obtain an XP SP2 Install CD, insert in to the CD drive and set BIOS to Boot from CD, when it does, choose full install, and Format you drive to NTFS, and go on to install the Windows XP SP2 software. This will then return your PC to the way it was originally.
It would pay also to obtain ALL the drivers for your PC, and store on a USB stick, that way you can install your network video card audio card etc, IF the XP install doesn't have them..
However usually XP will install Generic drivers just to get you going, and then you can go online and download the newest ones and install.
When you do this ALL information will be erased so anything you wish to save Back it up FIRST.
There are many places to obtain a XP CD, you could try www.thepiratebay.org you will need a torrent client to download this...
You should not need any additional hardware - but you may have to install a driver (software).
If you just bought the keyboard it should have come with an installeation disc. If you don't have that you can go to the following Logitech website and peform the auto scan function (your new keyboard should be attached via USB cable.
This scan will detect the keyboard and tell you if you need any additional drivers installed.
First suggestion is to shut down, change ports and then, upon reboot, wait a few minutes to let XP resolve the 'new' USB devices.
Second suggestion is to download and install the manufacturers drivers and then try switching ports.
Final suggestion is to use the port that works. i.e. I went to the doctor and said "It hurts when I do this". He replied "Well, then don't do that.".
Good luck
p.s. you may want to list the model of the keyboard if you would like a more specific response.
there is a particiam on your dell that has all the restore data on it do you have the restore disk insert it and go. you will loose all the data that is on the comp when you do it. if you need that data pull the drive and put on another comp and copy it off. the reinstall it and then restore it. if you dont have the disk contact dell for a replacement.
