Hi I have a Compaq Presario SR5501P and I have had it for probably about 8 or 9 months now. A couple of weeks ago I tried to burn a disc (music to be exact) and the hardware was not recognized. I tried several different programs, from Windows Media Player to CD Burner XP, and none of them recognized my drive. It is the drive that came with the computer and I have burned discs before, so I know it works, or at least used to. It reads discs just fine, just doesn't want to burn them. Thanks in advance for any help!
8 or 9 months?
Just take it back to the store , they will repair/replace for you as its stll under warranty

Ok thanks, but just one thing: it doesn't seem like a problem with the hardware, feels like it's just something in some software. Would that still count as warranty?
