Hi Dan
if by 'reset' you mean disable the ink monitor - to use refilled cartridges...press and hold the STOP button for about 6 seconds.
You can find more info on the subject here:

good luck with it!

How do I "Reset" my........

Ok, many things will work again only after they are "Reset" now to reset your device, if it has a battery, it MUST be removed totally, if on Power, it must be removed, if on BOTH, both must be removed, wait 5 mins or so, then look around the edge back, side, of your unit for a small hole & or button, while the battery is out, power off, depress this button for say 10 seconds, then reattach battery and power up. The unit, with any luck, it should be working again. If it doesn't work first time, simply try again, BUT this time wait like 20 mins, before you try to press the "Reset" button. Hopefully NOW you will be all good. If not then you have some "Other" sort of problem that will NOT respond to this method of fix.

How do I reset the waste ink counter on a Canon MX922?

Hello Jeff,

To reset the cartridge ink counter:
  1. Unplug the power and the USB cables from the printer.
  2. Open the cartridge door and hold down the power button.
  3. Reconnect the power cables while still holding down the power button.
  4. Close the cartridge door and release the power button. The ink cartridge is now reset.
Thanks,

Self clean lock

Hello there:
Normally every body gets this almost right by cutting the power but there is a trick to this it can be done in 2 different ways depending on the unit
First unplug the unit and wait 15 -30 seconds then plug it back in and wait for 15 to 30 seconds then unplug it again and repeat this step 1 more time then upon the final plug in wait for 5 min and then unlock as you normally would.
now on the newer units the trick is to let it stand unplugged for 1 hour to allow the internal reset device to reset the appliance then plug it back in and then wait 5 min and you should hear it automatically unlock the appliance or you cn simply unlock it as you normally would
BUT REMEMBER DO NOT TOUCH IT FOR THE 5 MINUTES AFTER THE PLUG IN STAGE OR YOU WILL HAVE TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN OK
Hope this is very helpful for you please keep me posted on how this is going there is still more that i can show you but i wanted to start with the basics ok?
Best regards Michael

Dell e510 won't make it to post

Unplug computer, disconnect all usb/monitor/internet, open it, hold power button until green led on the inside on the motherboard turns off, pop out the BIOS battery (looks like a big watch battery and use a small flathead screwdriver to depress the spring lock on one side), plug in computer, hold power button for about 20 seconds (must reset BIOS), let up on power button, wait 10 seconds and push power button. The computer should turn on. Wait for it until activity seems stable (1 min. or so). Push powerbutton to shut off.

If this has worked you have proven that it's not the power supply (it turned on). If you purchased a non dell power supply, you might try this with the original one installed.

Go buy a new battery (CR2032 3 volt). Unplug computer, open it, hold power button until green led on the inside on the motherboard turns off, pop in new battery, plug in (you should notice the power button blinking amber again), hold power button until it stops blinking (about 20 sec....again must reset BIOS), wait 10 sec., push power button. the computer should turn on. Wait for it until activity seems stabe (1 min. or so). Push powerbutton to shut off.

Now, close case, plug in all usb/monitor/internet/etc. Power up computer. You'll get an internal floppy drive error. Push F2 (maybe F1) to get into the BIOS settings and go to "drives" and turn off the internal floppy. Save and exit. The computer should boot properly now.

This seems to be a big problem with the e510, my theory is that this one small battery is the root of most of these failures (as these computers usually fail after 1-2 years), not the power supply or the motherboard (heck, when you replace the motherboard it comes with a new one of these batteries...a several hundred dollar piece of hardware, with a $5 battery that will actually fix it).

LC37GA8 RESET

You must unplug the unit, and while unplugged depress the volume up and channel down buttons at the same time (the buttons on the tv) and while buttons are depressed, plug the power cord in. Hold the buttons for 1 sec. then release. The unit should no be on in the service mode. A small k should appear on the screen. With the remote press the channel up button. There should now be a menu on the screen where you can see lamp error line. The lamp errors will most likely read 5 and 5 lamp errors in this unit will cause shut down. Use the channel down button on the remote until you highlight that line. Withe the curser right arrow button select the 5 and now with the channe up button you should be able to reset the 5 to a 0. Now unplug the unit and wait 30 sec. before powering the unit. That should return the unit to normal operation.
