Not pickin up signal

When I search for the belkin wireless router signal that is installed in my house it says:

Windows connot configure thie wireless connection

If you have enabled another program to manage this wireless connection, use that software.

If you want Windows to configure this wireless connection, start the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) service. For information about starting the WZC service, see article 871122 in the Microsoft Knowlegde Base on the Web site.

I used my Belkin wireless connection plenty of times and now its not working.. what shall I do?

Upgrading the firmware (which forced a software reset) solved a similar problem I had with an SMC router. Have you tried logging into your router via an ethernet cable and doing a software reset? If you try this, be sure you have all the information you need to set up your wireless network again because the reset will wipe out all this information.

Can i setup the belkin f7d4302 as a wireless bridge

belkin does not support this. The only way you can do it is by running a cable to the router to extend your wireless signal around the house. I did a similar setup with a powerline network adapter if running a cat5 cable is not a option. just make sure you change the main ip address for the 2nd router to like and disable dhcp since the main router will handle dhcp. also make sure the wireless settings are the same and channel is different if 1st router is channel 1 then use channel 6 or 11 for the 2nd router.

We have a Belkin G+ router and receive a pretty good signal around the house apart from in one bedroom. Wireless laptop can sometimes pick up a signal but normally very poor maybe 15-20%. yet using a...

I'm afraid you can't boost the sgnal from the router without buying a repeater/booster box.

You will get the best wireless performance from your router if it is in the highest position possible in the house - of course it may be impractical to move it but, if you can, then do so.

The only other option is to purchase a booster. I don't know what country you are living in, so I can't give definitive advice. You should try a search on google or ebay for "wireless router booster"

Everything is possible!

If you want more advice please reply here with a comment and I will try to provide further assistance.

Belkin Router Signal Weak

Wireless configurations are tempermental over larger distances. Some routers do have the ability to increase the signal strength to over come this, but a good location is key.

The more obsticals in the way the slower the connection will become. Closed doors, being buried under books, underneath desks, can all cause the signal to come through a slower speeds to compensate.

Make sure your router is in an elevated location to help with a less blocked signal.

Are you using a Wireless-N adapter on your computer? If not, you might need an extender because Wireless-G does not have the same range as -N.

With the model number of your Belkin router I might be able to assist more.

I have installed Belkin N router onto my computer, however my laptop is not pickin the signal up and I cannot connect to the internet on the laptop just the computer

If you do not have an 'N' compatible wireless adapter in your laptop, make sure you set the Belkin to 'B/G' compatability mode. Also, the type of security if an older laptop is probably limmited to WPA-PSK, and you would need to set that up in the router as well. Extremely old laptop wireless adapters may be limmited to WEP, which is an old an unreliable security encryption.

Actiontec Model GT701-WRU signal failure when on line when using notebook in other parts of the house no signal to desk top pc on third floor of house signal to low disconects from the net can you...

That is not a configuration problem, that is a signal problem.

It means that the signal does not have enough power to reach all part of the house.

A way to fix this is by installing a repeater, like this one Linksys WRE54G-UK 54Mbps Wireless Range Expander

Your router is a G, not very powerful. An alternative is buying a more powerful N router, like the ones below.

I recently purchased a Hawking HSB2 Signal Booster. Two years ago, my son installed a Toshiba Cable modem(PCX2200)and a Belkin Wireless Router(model#F5D7230-4)for Camcast High Speed Internet. The Router...

Booster will only work along with access points in your case the belkin wireless router - you have to connect the device to the router not to the windows xp pc

if you know how to configure and the device are compatiable to each other and allows bridging or can configure as your access point client then you need not wanna to get it connected via wire or T568b standard ethernet cable otherwise you have to connect with this cable will enchance the wireless activity

Wireless signals can go down its strength by any magnetic activity, oscillations such as microwave, powerful steel/metal frames and check your anteena position keep in different direction and check your pc wifi signal strength.

Interlink between your router and booster with utp cables gives you steady flow of data and full band strength.

Aviod using two company devices change the router to Hawking
Thanks Hothawk
