How do I download a quick guide start up manual?Pan

If you have a digital Set-Top Box with digital cable service:
Using Navigator:

1. Press the SETTINGS button on your remote.
2. Scroll left or right to the Quick Settings category.
3. Scroll down to select the Closed Captioning option and press SELECT.
4. Scroll up or down to highlight On, On with Mute, or Off and press SELECT.

Using i-Guide:

1. With your Set-Top Box currently on, push the POWER button on your Set-Top Box to turn it off.
2. Immediately-within one second-push the MENU button on your remote. You should see a User Settingsmenu screen displayed.
3. Use the arrows keys on the remote to highlight the Closed Caption option and press OK or SELECT on your remote to toggle Enable/Disable.
4. Power on the Set-Top Box to return to watching TV.

Otherwise, if you have basic cable, please consult your television's user manual for instructions to turn on/off closed captioning.

Purchase a Logitech Harmony remote.
There are various models, and sometimes you can get them cheap (new).
Get a model that has a small screen on it EG the Harmony 600
Logitech have the biggest data base (covering the most brands and models of TVs, set top boxes, etc)
When you open the box you will find a usb cable to connect the harmony to your PC. Don't connect it yet.
Read the instructions that come with the remote, regarding creating an account with Logitech. That will then guide you how to open up a Logitech web page, and how to tell them about your brand and model of equipment (EG your Apex box)
They will tell you if they have data for that model, and guide you about connecting your remote, and downloading the codes into your Harmony remote.

PS I love the Harmony, and you can program it to handle multiple IVs, boxes, etc.

Assuming that you are connecting to a cable box/sat box. problem is likley with that otherwise your looking at a mainboard problem. try hooking tv to a different source to prove if prob is tv or not.

If wireless access to the IP address doesn't work, try connecting an ethernet cable DIRECTLY between the router and the PC to log into the router's settings. Also, some routers have a 192.168.2.1 address rather than the default 1.1. The user manual is within the HELP option of the Settings screen and can be downloaded from there. Sorry Joe Diaz, but your supposed "solution" is quite ignorant since the user guide does have these instructions.
