Playing DVD's requires a bit of constant transfer from the drive to the controller and from the controller to the RAM. First thing I would try is disabling background programs. One very likely culprit is if you have anti-virus software that is running a scan in the background.

Have you tried different DVD's? The problem could be the DVD drive is not reading the DVD properly. Have you tried different players? Different players sometimes work better. I would also suggest making sure that your sound drivers are up to date.

Playback in video

dv6-7020, what OS? XP, VISTA, W7, W8. W8.1 W10 (release 1,2,3)
we cant answer this lacking , OS, and what media you are playing?

media can be.
1: DVD or blue ray or even a CD can have videos.
2 : a video file, like MP4 or 100s of other types of formats,
3: online video streaming, are you on line, if yes, where.>?
name the source , by name, netflix, or youtube or? where?

ok this always worked ok before, but not now.
sure (top reasons are what, )
1: Virus infected PC.
2: if online, the web is slow, or if on wifi, (hopeless) wifi is slow due to congestion in the hood. try upper wifi channels, to cure.

why not just start with OS
like this, (and example)
1: windows 10.
2: VLC on youtube is slow.
or
VLC on a local, MP4 fail is slow, chops or sounds wrong.
like that, tell the story as it happens and bingo, 10x better help.

Change playback speed in Windows Media Player

Begin playing a file.

Click the arrow below the Now Playing tab, point to Enhancements, and then click Play Speed Settings.

Move the Play Speed slider to the speed at which you want to play the content, or click the Slow, Normal, or Fast link.

To select speeds between the labeled play speeds, in the Enhancements pane, clear the Snap slider to common speeds check box.

To hide the settings, click the Close button in the Enhancements pane.

hope this helps

I have a Denon AVR 790 for about 8 months now. Hooked up a combo DVD VCR player using the red/yello/white cables. It worked fine for about 6 months. Now I cannot get the DVD or VCR to play. I get sound,...

Hi,
If dvd combo player is only video source connected with Denon AVR 790 then unplug yellow video wire from Denon and plug it directly in TV input, now video signal will go directly to tv and sound will come from Denon AVR 790 speakers during dvd playback.
This is simple bypass that wont effect surround sound of dvd playback.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

While wathing movie by acer 3260 laptop video & audio slow

Hello sanjeev_vada,

This procedure is from the windows media player help file.I hope it's useful:
-------------------------
*To play content at variable speeds*

You can change the speed at which content plays in the Player. For example, you can slow down the playback speed if you are taking notes while watching a training video, or you can speed up the slow sections of a presentation.

•Begin playing a file.

•Click the arrow below the Now Playing tab, point to Enhancements, and then click Play Speed Settings.

•Move the Play Speed slider to the speed at which you want to play the content, or click the Slow, Normal, or Fast link.

•To select speeds between the labeled play speeds, in the Enhancements pane, clear the Snap slider to common speeds check box.

•To hide the settings, click the Close button in the Enhancements pane.

Olympus DS30 voice recorder play speed issue

Hi, the solution to the problem seems to be the following. When u press play, once, you get 1x play. If whilst playing you press play a second time the DS-30 goes into slow play mode, and if you press a second time it goes into fast mode. For those of us who accidentally went into either fast or slow mode, just press the play button again, during playback, until "play" appears on the LCD screen. Apparently it is as simple as that.
