How do I connect my router N600 to Chromecast?

Download the Chromecast App to your phone or tablet. Open the app, search for your Chromecast device and set the device up by telling it your router SSID (name) and password.
I believe you can do it with a PC by going to the Chromecast website.

Set the router up so its working. Download the Chromecast app and update your Chromecast device with the SSID and password you assigned to the router.

Sounds like the Desktop has a problem withe the adapter.

If you have an icon by the clock, right click on it and go to network connections or sharing center to view you adapter setting.

You need to follow the instructions of connecting the Comcast to a PC first, and setting it up.

Then you connect it to the PC and access the router wirelessly.

To unsecure your Netgear wireless router, turn off the encryption setting in the wireless settings.

Connect a LAN cable from the Netgear to the LAN port on yourcomputer, open a browser and enter the Netgear configuration URL -

The default login = admin
The default PW = passwordYou can now change the default admin password and configurethe wireless settings.
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2encryption or turn off the encryption..
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

If you are wirelessly connecting you need to use a wireless card that supports dual band.
and then changnig the settings on the wireless card helps.
if you are wired the issue is with the router settings.
Upgrade the firmware on the router
