This is a normal behavior when a phone does not have a valid/working SIM card. Without a valid/working SIM card or even without a SIM card, the phone can still be used for emergency call.
I guess your phone has not been unlocked yet. Unlocked
phones do not have any specific carrier software and work with all GSM
carriers. These include T-Mobile, Cingular and AAAA . Multi-band
unlocked phones also will work with carriers in other countries. So I guess you need to unlock your phone so that u can enjoy in your country.
This means that either the sim card has become dislodged (try re-inserting the sim card)
Alternatively, you will need to call your phone company to investigate.
Have your sim card number and details ready, as they will probably need those details.
Best of luck
This things happens to me the.. Check the sim if inserted correctly. If you use sim 2 card slot (bottom slot), the metal connector of sim should face up. When you make a call, be sure you press the sim2 call(P2).
If you use the sim 1 card slot (top slot), insert the sim in facedown manner. When you make a call, be sure you press the correct button for sim 1 (P1)
sounds like either your sim card isnt inserted correctly, or the slots arent turned on. sim card slot 2 is the slot closest to the phone, gold chip faces up, sim card slot one is slightly elevetaed off the phone, gold chip faces down. make sure it is inserted all the way down. perss fimly. then go to SETTINGS>DUAL SIM SETTINGS>DUAL SIM OPEN>CLICK OK. This opens up both sim card slots. after you find out which slot you are going to use, you can repeat these steps and only have opened the one you are using.
Unlock code is 1122. But check to see if the sim is inserted correctly. Open both sim slots first. The bottom slot should have the sim inserted with the gold bars facing up. The top slot should have the bars on the sim facing down.
Ok, this sounds f**king stupid, but, try this
-Dial *#000#
-change the date to one in the past
-switch phone off then on
-change the date back to present
-switch phone off then on
