Re: Fan Noise

I have the same laptop. This is a common problem. The first time I bought a new fan on eBay for about $70. They are expensive because the problem is so common with this laptop. It happened AGAIN. So, I was not going to pay for another. This is what I did:
Get a small phillips screwdriver. Unscrew the screws on the back where the fan is and pop off the plastic part. Unscrew the fan and take it out. Take it apart and a put a SMALL bit of oil(I used filter oil for my RC car) on the little pin that the fan spins on. Blow out the copper heatsink with can-of-air because it is also probably full of dust. Mine made so much noise and stopped working but after I oiled it, it was like brand new.
Don't think it's hard to take apart. It's pretty straightforward when you start unscrewing. The plastic piece you begin taking off is the one under the left speaker with the two circle bumps on it.

Do you wanna to means the cooling fan noise sound? if it then you will inform that there are too much dust in your cooling fan as a result it can run frequently.
for this reason you can open your laptop case then wash your dust. if you are professional please don't try. for better give it a professional technician. it becomes ok after doing that. thanks

Loud fan belt type noise from laptop

There are no belts in a computer, sounds like something is rubbing in your computer cooling fan blades, get a can of Duster ( to clean dust from things) and spray the compressed air into all the vent holes to clean out any dust and debris.

Fan noise after a few minutes running.

Fans are typically a little noisey. If it's exceptionally loud or continues for a long time it may indicate the fan is no providing the proper cooling. Purchase a laptop cooling pad to place under the laptop while your useing it and make sure nothing is interfering with the airflow around the unit.

Sony Vaio fan making noise

Not sure of a user cause for the fan to run full speed, unless you are using the laptop in a high heat environment, or setting it on a bed or other area where it is not getting adequet cooling air. If it does it right away, when you turn it on , cold, then there might be a laptop hardware problem. If you leave your laptop on all the time, then you might be inducing the problem. I had a HP high performance laptop, that the fans would not turn on at all till it ran an hour or so, then they would stay on loud for 10 or 15 minutes, then shut off, then cycle.

ASUS Lap top computer, 2 months old' makes loud fan type noises at each start up.

Its normal for a laptop computer or a desktop computer to spin its fans at maximum speed during start up - its part of the power on self test.

If the fan is very loud like on this video the sound is very bad -

that would be a bad fan, constant bad noise. but if your fan only makes noise in start up, its normal.

your warranty should cover the replacement of the fan if its bad.

Loud Noise on laptop when booting

Most likely it is the POST throttling up the fan to 100% during boot up. Then it switches over to ACPI(?) power manangement and Windows manages your fan speed to extend battery life.

Go to Dell Support Site
Download the latest BIOS updates and run it.

If it continues, try a can of compressed air, and breifly blow out any debris from the system fan. Bits of paper and critter-fur can get sucked up into the system.
