The DVD is using the screen as a monitor.
The Bell Fibe signal uses the television's tuner board.

Double check you have the Bell Fibe HDMI cable firmly inserted and also check the Source Button on the Remote. You really need a new one though as technology has moved on with 4K and Smart, Internet connected sets.

I am assuming you are using the bell Fibe TV system. The best option to program the TV code onto the remote control is to go to this site and select the remove control you have.
