What size battery does a nixon rerun and a nixon time teller use

Pull the battery out of the watch, the number is stamped on the battery negative side, go on eBay and find the battery.

It would have been on the box it came in.

Take the watch to any jeweler and they can open it for you and install the correct battery. The battery number is on the battery.

take the strap off the watch and soak it for 10mins or more in "oxy" washing stain remover

dont take it back to the pool
if it doesnt work then contact the maker or look for a replacement strap ...

Job for a jeweler I would suggest.

A jeweler will be able to get the right size in there. Most jewelers will do it for the cost of the battery.
