Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
HI, I have a Whirlpool LSQ9520LQ0 washer that intermittently spins slowly or not at all at the spin cycle. There usually is an electrical - burning smell associated with this, but some times it spins fine. This has been going on for a week and is becoming more frequent as time goes one. Any suggestions.
The belt could be worn and will be slipping on the pullys, as it spins up the rubber , rubs against the pullys and that is what creats the burning rubber smell, the belt needs replacing.

We have the same problem, and found out the the electric motor is running very hot. Replacing the motor seam to cure the problem, but the motor is not inexpensive. $200 to $350.
