The door kind of sits in a channel on the case. It should fit with the rod and spring that holds the door closed/in place. You need to remove the old door, and maybe the back part of the camera (there are screws inside the battery compartment, dont' forget them!).
If you can't fix it, leave a note with an email address and maybe my company can fix it for you.

I have a cannon powershot a80 and it keeps saying no memory card on my screen when i turn the power on.

Take a look inside your camera's CF card slot. I suspect that you may have a bent pin in there. If so, don't fret. Although professional repair would be more costly than the value of the camera, there is a chance that you can repair this yourself. Please see this link.

My Canon powershot a80 will not come on.

It sounds memory card is defective and preventing camera to turn ON.
Check camera with another memory card or try this memory card in another Canon camera to confirm it.

Format CF card

In general it is pretty hard to recover photos on a compact flash card once it has been erased and overwritten. You can just erase and take pictures over it many timesand this will pretty much take care of the problem.

You can also use an external card reader and load videos, pictures, data, etc. several times and this should make recovering your previous photos almost impossible.

You can try another option which does what the 1st two suggestions did (except it is automated) and use a commercial software program. Here is one such program. http://www.photorescue.net/downloadcardwiper.htm

CF card slot cover

Is the card inserted correctly?
Is the card release button- under the cover locked down?
This needs two pushed to get it to lock in.

CF card problem

Try a CF card reader. If that shows no files then try some file recovery software with the card reader acting like a drive. There are some nice freeware programs that might help. It may be that the files are corrupted then the solution is more difficult. Good Luck!
