Are you using refillable cartridges or after market cartridges? This could be a problem. Does this happen with photos? Are you using Epson paper and ink? This makes a big difference. Clean rollers before you go any further. Also clean the printer jets with your Epson utilities software. Note that inkjet printers use a lot of ink, especially with photos.
