try going into the menu 8 clicks down onto theaf control,and make sure its on single AF ,not continuous,as if its on continuous it will keep trying to stay in focus,if this dosent solv it its probabley a faulty lens
When in video camera mode, press menu, and change auto focus mode from c (continuous) to s (single). The noise you hear is the auto focus motor going back and forth, trying to find the object focus constantly. You can use this only if the object is not changing the distance to the camera while recording.
