Hello Zamis,

Where did you receive the product key to enter for microsoft office? Did this come with the software that you brought seperately from the PC? The Product Key that is attached to the PC that may be on the back or side of the PC is most likely the product key for the windows operating system. Unless otherwise says Office XP, 2003, 2007 on it.

I have loaded microsoft office 2007 and it has accepted the product key. When I try to use the email it asks for the product key again but this time does not recognise it. I dont know why please help

Here is what I found to work. Key in your Product key again and activate it. Close Office without doing anything else..

Open a command prompt / Run as Administrator. Key in one of the scripts below (x86 for 32 bit computers and x64 for 64bit).

c:\>cscript "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs" /act

c:\>cscript "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs" /act

Key this in and press enter.
c:\>reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\officesoftwareprotectionplatform /v USEROPERATIONS /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

Now open Office Check if it is activated.

For Microsoft office 2007 home and student edition I have entered a product key which I got from the internet, it was accepted but icons are still unavailable, it cannot be activated, what can I do?

    Run Register Editor by clicking on Start -> Run, and then type "regedit" in the Open box and press Enter key.
  2. Navigate to the following registry key:

    Note that inside the registry key, there should be another subkey that resembles the following:

  3. If there is more than one registry entries or subkeys that reference Microsoft 12.0 registration, open up each subkey, and then identify the product by the ProductName value data until you locate the subkey for the product which you want to remove the existing product license key.

    For example:

    ProductName=Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007
    ProductName=Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007

  4. Once found the correct registry subkey, delete the following values:

1. If you have trail version installed in your computer then you have to remove it first and than try to enter the product key.
2. If this doesn’t work, then rename these two files opa12.dat and opa12.bak. These two files are located in C:\\Programdata\Microsoft\Office\Data. If you don't find these tow files then can search it also.
3. After renaming these files. Go to Registry Editor (type regedit in the RUN box). Follow the following key:
and delete the folder {.......}. After this open any office application and it will prompt you to enter the product key once again, so enter it and see what happens.
4. If this doesn’t work then call Microsoft support agent to generate a new product key.

The computer won't accept the product key

Most likely, the Acer product key that you see at the bottom of the laptop is for the operating system, and not Microsoft Office. I would first check and see what is written by the code (does it say Microsoft Windows or does it say Microsoft Office Home & Student)?

If you purchased this version of MS Office Home and Student, it should have come with a code. If it came with your computer, Acer should have provided the code somewhere with the documentation.

My system is not accepting the microsoft product

It definitely could be invalid, first, I would try making sure obviously that you are entering it correctly, check for I's instead of ones, O's and zeroes, etc. Try different combination of each and see if that gives you any luck.
If you have no success with that, contact microsoft and ask for a new serial key and after they check that you actually own the software they should gladly give you a new one.
