I find when dryers aren't heating it's usually the thermal fuse or high limit safety switches. They should have contunuity through them. Another thing to check is incoming voltage at the outlet. If only 110 is coming in the dryer will spin (because that's all the motor needs to spin) and not heat. Proper voltage should be 220 to be able to power motor and heating elements nsync. Hope this helps good luck

If it's electric, could be timer or heat level selector switch, a relay to heating element, the heating element itself bad or the overheat thermostatic switch has failed. How old is the dryer? A lightly used replacement may be less than the repair technition and parts.

I need to replace/test the motor can you tell me how to get the durm and motor out. I have taken all the screws out of the back but it will not come off.

Since you have got that far... stop for a moment. Take a few photos of what you are doing, to help you rebuild the unit. You can test the motor without taking it all apart. Does the drum turn, by hand, relatively easily? If so, Good!
Does the drum turn when you start the dryer (I use the cold air setting for these tests)? If so, Good!
When you start the dryer (on cold air) do you hear the sound of the motor, but no drum rotation? If so then it maybe that the motor is good but the belt is broken or has frayed and is slipping; then the belt needs replacement.
Disconnect the dryer exhaust hose.... When you start the dryer (on cold) do you feel any air movment from the exhaust? If so then I think it is just the belt not the motor. If no air movement then it is probably the motor. A replacement motor cost approx. $165.00.

Dryer is not heating up.

90% of electric dryers emitting cold air need a new heating element installed. If you've checked the thermal fuse, and verified the unit has around 220 volts of power, then the only thing left is the heating element. Typically costs around $40-$60. Can be done by you if you have basic electrical knowledge, otherwise call an electrician.

Dryer works but is only blowing cold air. just bought the dryer last year and have already had it repaired once.

my Samsung was in a flood(so solution may only apply to floods), changed heater assembly, still blowing cold air, turned out to be the little black box on the generator, took box cover off, cleaned the connectors in box and voila...instant heat

when a dryer does'ny blow hot air,it's normally either the element or the stats on the element.

OUR KENMORE DRYER BLOWS OUT COLD AIR

It's most likely a thermal fuse if it's a gas dryer. very easy to install. If your dryer is electric, it's either the thermal cut-off or the heating element itself. If you need help with anything, please feel free to e-mail me. good luck :)

Conia CCD4501 cloths dryer not blowing hot air anymore

If you can turn it on and have the door open, hold the door switch in and see if you have a glow from the heating element. If not, your element is broken. That is if it is an electric dryer. If it is a gas dryer you need to check the pilot light or the thermo sensor.
