My files from ms word 2007 won't work on other PC using xp operating system

It may be just that they have an older version of MS Office, try downloading and installing the Microsoft office compatibility package, its free

If the url doesn't work just google
Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack.

If that doesn't work, don't pay MS anymore money. Go to download and install "Open Office" its also free and you can read and write MS office compatible docs.

I had Microsoft 2003. Removed it and tried to install Office 2010. Now I have neither. My PC tells me that MAP132.DLL is corrupt and I must reinstall Microsoft 2003. But the installer won't work. It says...

Try running a search for the file mentioned (MAP132.DLL) and delete it manually, then try the reinstall again. To search for the file, click start and type the file name. For Windows XP and below click start - search and then enter the file name.
It may also help to uninstall all versions of Office, restart your PC and then try to reinstall. Sometimes certain files aren't removed during the uninstall but during the restart.
Best of luck!

Microsoft office home and student 2007 product key

If the package it came in looks like the one in the picture above, turn it over to the back and open the pull-out compartment. The product key should be located on there. If your package isn't like the one above, check the whatever package it came in and see if you can find it. You could also try any codes that you see on the package and see if they will work. If it isn't, try this key: GRH4B-HKXXP-WM4MF-YR4K6-BBQJM. If this doesn't work, you'll have to contact Microsoft and ask them for it. If the software came with your laptop, you might also want to check under your laptop and see if it was placed there. Make sure the label says Microsoft.

Error 1603

When you try to install a Microsoft Windows Installer package, you may receive the following error message:
Error 1603: A fatal error occurred during installation.
If you click OK in the message box, the installation rolls back.
To resolve this problem, do any one of the following, depending on the cause of the problem:
  1. On the Windows desktop, double-click My Computer. The My Computer window appears.
  2. Right-click the drive that you want to install the Windows Installer package to, and then click Properties.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. On the Security tab, do the following:
    • If you are using Microsoft Windows 2000, verify that the Name box contains the SYSTEM user account.
    • If you are using Microsoft Windows XP, verify that the Group or user names box contains the SYSTEM user account.
If the SYSTEM user account does not appear in the box, follow these steps to add the SYSTEM account to the box:
    1. Click Add. The Select Users or Groups dialog box appears.
    2. In the Name field, click SYSTEM, and then click Add.
    3. Click OK.
  5. In the Permissions section, click to select the Full Control check box underAllow, and then click Advanced.
  6. Do the following:
    • If you are using Windows XP, in the dialog box that appears, click to select the Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects check box for the SYSTEM account, and then click OK.
    • If you are not using Windows XP, in the dialog box that appears, click to select the Reset permissions on all child objects and enable propagation of inheritable permissions check box for the SYSTEM account, and then click OK.
Note If you receive a security message, click Yes.
  7. Wait for the operating system to apply the permissions that you have selected to all child folders.
  8. Run the Windows Installer package.

Cannot open a file from docx documents

Hello there!

Well that problem can be caused only if you are using older version of microsoft office 2007. If you have MS2003 package, and trying to open docx file extensions that will not work, but you are able to use docx extensions with MSoffice2007 package. In your question you put that you already use MS office 2007 package,so i suggest your docx extension is somehow corrupted.

If you had downloaded it from the internet please redownload it again.

If that was your work try to save it in doc format 1st then in docx if you want to enable only msoffice2007 users to use it. Good luck ! =)

Please rate my solutions! =)

Prod key provided does not work

You must use the product code provided with the Microsoft Home and Office package, NOT one provided for your Windows operating system

When you purchased the MS home and Office (seperate from the PC) there will be a label inside the package for that package and only that package..

Finding 25 digit product key

The product key is the key issued by Microsoft that proves the copy you have was purchased or is legitimate. If you don't have the key, you don't have a legal copy. If you have an original disk and package from MS then the key should be on the back of the package.

My suspicion is that you have a pirated copy....why would you need a "Corporate License" copy if you aren't working for a large company? If you ARE working for a large corp, go to you IT manager and get the key from them.

Opening pps messages

Hi nati662992,

pps files are Microsoft PowerPoint slideshows.

Because Powerpoint is part of the Microsoft Office package, you would think that you would have to purchase Microsoft Office to view .pps files. This is not so. You can download the free PowerPoint viewer from here:

Install that and reboot.
Then open the email again and it will automatically open with Powerpoint Viewer. Or it will ask you what program you want to open it with, and you click the PowerPoint Viewer .exe icon, and tick the 'Always open with this Program?' box.

Good Luck and Season's Greetings to you!
