I have been enjoying the Solis Master 5000 for a year. It's time to ... I haven't been able to find an actual user manual online...for some reason.
Have you cleaned the outlet behind the brew unit? It is a trapezoidal shaped small hole below the plunger window. It gets clogged easily. Squirt some water into it and above it. It should come out clean. If it's clgged the water backs up into the grounds
HI If you remove the brew unit and find water in the top left side of it, where the thumb screw is, you have a stripped thumb screw. This is caused by using the key to install the filter screen and pulls the nut out of the thumb screw. This is why they call it a thumb screw. Finger tight.
Before you go that far, what does the grind on the coffee puck look like; is it fine like powder or is it course. The water from the machine might not be able to go through the coffee and so the bypass is opening because of too much pressure. Try adjusting grind first.
You can remove the brew unit and cycle it manually back to the neutral position. There is an arrow and letter "N" that will align when the unit is properly positioned.
So I assume your tried the removing the waste receptacle to the left side of the machine? Sometimes coffee grinds build up on the side as well. If you can't press the "press" lever then something may be stuck with coffee bean grease and or grinds, no?
