Question about ViewSonic N2750w 27 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

Picture full of lines and flicker

I have Model N2750W manufactured on March 2006. Recently started to blank the picture ( sound is OK) on RGB input (or DVI). With reset ( ON-OFF) picture is coming back. Today started with new problem- on all inputs. Picture is present , but distorted with vertical colour bars, moving across the screen. They are changing and after some time become horisontal short lines. Reset doesn't help. Picture is completely distorted like very strong electromagnetic field is close. After some time picture is becoming clear, but in blank inputs ( blue screen) I see lower half is having some lines and dots. More details: cold TV works for few minutes, then flickering, after 10-15 minutes starts to normalize, only few red dots on the lower half. I am electronic technologist and experienced amateur repairmean, any tip or help will be very much appreciated. Thanks Zdenko, Canada appreciated

Re: Picture full of lines and flicker

Zdenko did an excellent job. Voltage regulators and the capacitors on the main boards and in the power supplies are always suspect. Some times you can narrow down the culprit buy purchasing a can of freeze spray. Let the TV warm up and try freezing suspect components to see if this causes a reaction. Thermal problems can often be found in this way.
Of course, if you're not able or willing to replace components on the circuit boards, you can always replace the main board or power supply board after determining which is causing the problem. These parts should be available at your local Viewsonic service provider at a reasonable price.

Sound/Picture Flickering

Check its main power supply regulator board. The fault is there. Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

How to remove back picture flickers then goes

Hi ignafam,

Sorry for the late reply, I'm offline upon purchasing my service.

I have some question so that I can give you an accurate solution regarding on your problem.
1. Exact model no. of your unit - this is located on the back cover, manual, or on the receipt.
2. Does the unit has sound, before it goes blank?
3. Does the unit goes black or white screen?
4. Does the symptoms remain the same in all inputs(when watching TV, DVD, game console, etc)?

Connecting dvd?

If everything is connected and dvd player is on, make sure you have the proper input selected on the TV. Input2 on this model TV. Try switching between the inputs.

An important thing you need to do is set the RGB input signal from PC to YUV or you won't have a good picture. This is done through the menu system
