Question about Husqvarna Husky 165
My Husky 165 will not do a basting stitch no matter how long I set the stitch length. It used to baste and then I didn't use my machine for a few months and now it won't. Can someone suggest what the problem might be?
Set the machine to its longest stitch length, put it in the warmest room in your house and in the sun if possible. If the stitch gets longer when the machine is warm it needs to be cleaned and lubed so that the stitch length mechanism moves freely.
If the lube in the machine is getting old or is nonexistent, the reverse button may be depressed and appear to return to its original position, when released, but the mechanism inside the machine only returns part of the way causing the length to be shorter than normal. Heat often masks this problem allowing the mechanism to move.
