If it's doesn't have a heater built into it (most do not) it is only designed to cool. Turning up the heat knob on it or digital display will ONLY make it cool to that temperature. Time to buy a space heater.

I cannot get my temp down to 58 but stays at 68

What is the BTU rating of the unit and what size space are you trying to cool down? Air conditioners move heat from one area to another. Possible reasons for not achieving the temperature you want are 1) the air conditioner you are using is too small to cool the size room you have or 2) the space where you are trying to exhaust the hot air from the air conditioner is too hot to allow your air conditioner to move enough heat out of the room you are trying to cool.

Why is my portable air conditioner blowing out room temperature air?

Make sure the filter(s) have been cleaned (Washed) and that the thermostat is set to the correct temperature. If the room temp is the same as the setting on the air con, it wont cool or heat. Just the fan will be operating.

My panasonic air conditioner does not turn off when cooling

At what temperature is the thermostat?
The temperature should never be lower than 70?F (21?C) for the unit to operate properly. If your temperature setting is above 70?F, then your unit might have a problem with the temperature sensor that controls the "on/off" cycle on your unit. For that you will need a professional certified HVAC tech to inspect it.

Most people think that lowering the temperature to the minimum will cool the room faster, but that is not the case. Since HVAC units move the air at a specific rate, it can only transfer the temperature, thus cooling/heating the air, within those parameters. That's what the calculation for the BTU is for. Normally cooling/heating the room to the desired temperature should take about 1 hour, but some new inverter units can do it in only 30 minutes or so. Lowering the temperature constantly or even keeping it at the lowest setting may cause premature failure of the unit.

How do i get my portable haier air conditioner cool off my house below 73

Air conditioners can only drop the temperature of the room temperature a maximum of 15 to 20 degrees F. A 95 degree F room temperature can drop to a maximum temperature of 75 to 80 degrees F. If the room temperature drops from 95 to 85 degrees F, Then the problem is having too small of a btu rating on the air conditioner or refrigerant has leaked out the sealed system which can affect the amount of cooling performance. You will have to buy a higher rated btu rated air conditioner if the temperature of the room drops by only 10 degrees F. Air conditioners are rated by how much heat that can be removed each hour. The more humid it is, the more work an air conditioner has to do. They cannot do more work than the btu rating that is listed on each air conditioner.

Why won't my lg ductless heat pump regulate the room temperature?

After I have been reading up on your unit it appears that the thermostat is not operating correctly. I found this real basic information on installation for your unit. This link I am giving is pretty basic instal schematics. But seems to be something about your thermostat needs to be dialed in or is not working properly.

Heat is not working. Just blowing cold air no matter the setting

is the "cold air" just room temperature air. put it on cooling and see if its colder than the air that is coming out of it when its on heating leave it on for a few mins make sure its cooling to.. it could be the reversing valve not pulling it onto heating if it can cool and not heat.

if its not cooling or heating it could be a few different problems. gas leak ,pcb boards ect.

I have an LG AC and the lowest temperature setting is 60 degrees

Lowering the temperature setting doesn't change the temperature of the air coming out of the unit it just lets it run until the room temperature gets colder. Check the temp of the air coming out of the unit. If it isn't as cold as it used to be the charge could be low. First though you should make sure the filters are clean and the coils. You should also check the actual room temp. It's also possible the unit doesn't have enough capacity to keep up with the cooling load of the room.
