Why does my Samsung 8.0 tablet keep saying device is overheating?

Keep plugging in the charging cable

When I open my Samsung 8.0 and in less than 5 minutes a message appears "unable to open application, device is over heating". The application will close. If I plug the charger in, the message will go away and will not re-appear as long as the charger is plugged in. Additionally, the battery will lose power quickly if not plugged in.

That does not sound right. I have had several Samsung tablets and never saw that. If the tablet it new it sounds like it might be defective.

Testimonial: "After powering my Samsung 8.0 tablet up and in less than 2 minutes the following message appears "unable to open application. Device is over heating". The tablet will then stall. After plugging in the charger it will work just fine if the charger is lest plugged in. I also noticed that the battery drains quickly if the charger is not plugged in."

My Samsung Tab 3 10.1 does the same thing :-(

It was not new, less than a year old when it started doing this.

If your tablet is acting up and within warranty initiate a warranty request. There is not much else you can do. At about 4 months my Tab 3 8.0 suddenly began discharging at a rate of 20% per day EVEN WITH POWERED OFF. It took 3 returns with no improvement, but Samsung finally replaced it. If a device is doing something outrageous or grossly abnormal you are wasting your time posting on forums or self-help sites.

Why does my next book 8 tablet keep shutting off when charged

I personally would contact the Tech department of that company or find their own website as this may simply be a software issue.
There may be an update available.
Some Electronic devices have defalt timers which automatically timeout if the device is not touched and charging, you may need to look at the settings for the screen.

I have had to send my Presario Tablet back under the 2 year warranty as there was a fault with the motherboard . This was free of charge to me as the tablet was 18 months old.

I hope this helps.

My ipad wont turn on

what model of ipad is it if its the third then its probably dead you need a different charger than the one apple supplied if you have or know anyone with maybe a Samsung charger for an s3 or s4 use your cable but use there Samsung plug it has a usb slot on it and would provide more power to charge it as the third gen drains very quickly and the charger they supplied isn,t enough to keep it going

P5113 not charging properly

There are a couple of common problems that can cause bad charging:
  1. Bad charging cable - try a new cable
  2. Bad charger - try a new charger, or try plugging it into a PC USB port overnight with the PC turned on
  3. Charger is not the right charger for your tablet - Samsung devices are known for being picky about what charger you use. If you don't use the original charger that came with the device, or a Samsung charger made for your specific tablet, you will have trouble.
  4. A bad/broken charging port on the tablet - this is not something you can fix yourself. You would likely have to return it to Samsung for repair, or find a local repair shop.

Cant get my samsung tablet to turn on

Your tablet's battery is probably dead. This may be because you have a bad battery, a bad charger, or a bad charging cable. Try using a different cable first and let it charge for a few hours - even if it doesn't look like it is charging.

If the new cable doesn't do it, try using a different charger. Samsung devices are picky about what charger you use, so try to use one made for your tablet. If you don't have another charger, plug it into a PC's USB port with the PC turned on. Leave them on and plugged in over night. That should trickle charge your tablet.

If neither of those work, try holding down the power and the Volume Up buttons. Keep them both pressed until the Samsung logo/boot screen comes up - should only be a couple seconds. Once the logo comes up release the power button but keep holding the Volume Up button. That will boot you into Recovery Mode. If that comes up, it means you've got power and your tablet isn't broken, but there is something wrong with the Android OS that is keeping your tablet from powering up normally. Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to move the selection highlight to the Factory Reset option. This will wipe all the info off your tablet and put it back into a "brand new just out of the box" state. You'll lose your information on the tablet, but this should fix the boot problem. Press the power button to chose the Factory Reset option. It will take a few minutes. Once it says that it is done, select the Reboot or Restart option. It should reboot. This boot will take longer than normal, since its wiping things out. But not more than a few minutes.
