My Panasonic KX-FHD331 fax keeps paper jamming. It will not allow me to put more than a few sheets of paper in the feeder without jamming. Whatever mechanism grabs the paper to feed it in doesn't do its job. I have to push the sheet of paper into the fax for it to be grabbed. Then the page starts to print and gets about half way into the machine before it declares a paper jam. I remove the jam, close it up, it resets and this crazy process starts all over again!
It really only works well if I manually feed one sheet at a time and stand there as a fax is sent or received. However, if I request it to print a report/log of calls or faxes, that prints out okay.
The film rollers are in properly and are taut as directed.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Your document feed is separate from your received and report prints so that's why your reports are printing ok and the document feeder jams. When you open up the doc feeder and look inside the machine you will see a roller and above it on the cover that opens you will see a rubber pad. Clean both the roller and pad (in fact anything in there that is rubber) with a rubber cleaner, alcohol, or even soap and water on a cloth without it been dripping wet. You will probablt find that they are very dirty. The roller feeds the document in so that needs to be clean and the pad helps to keep all the other docs from feeding in at the same time and that should be very clean so it produces good friction.
You must have a problem with separation if it occurs more often when there is more than one piece of paper inserted because the machine has to hold back the other sheets as it feeds in the first. If the beginning edge of the next piece of paper slips in too far it can cause a jam. There should be a rubber pad that keeps the other dcuments back while the roller feeds through. SOmetimes it's another roller facing the feed roller. This may be dirty or worn. If it's worn cleaning will not help only replacement.

I just realized that I may have described the problem inaccurately. The problem with the paper is in the "recording paper entrance". The paper is not feeding into the fax machine on its own. I have to hand feed, one sheet at a time, in order to get it to print out an incoming fax. Lately, the printing starts and then stops about half way through and thus a paper jam is indicated. I clear, that and this process keeps repeating.I cannot get an incoming fax to print out completely.
Interesting enough, if I select it to print out a journal log, it will print fine once the paper catches initially. No paper jams there!
I just cleaned all the rubber rollers, etc. with rubbing alcohol.
