Problem for HP Digital Projector Vp6120 Multimedia Projector
Change the lamp/ didnt help, lamp indicator is on

The customer left the HP 6120 beacuse it didnt start, i saw that the lamp error indicator lighted, i can start the projektor and all the fans starts up, i ordered a new lamp and replaced it, but after a couple of seconds the lamperror led indicator shows red.

- HP Vp6120 with same problem others are having. Light goes on for about half a minute, gets logo screen then lamp goes out and solid red lamp light on top of unit. No luck with trying fix to unplug two back fans. Don't want to buy new lamp if it is ballast. Any way to reset lamp without projector running? Thanks- dpcwardApr 29, 2008

- My old bulb blew so i replaced it with a new one. I turned the projector on and it works during the ten second startup screen during the startup screen the overheating light started to flash and 2 seconds after the startup screen goes away and the blue screen shows up the projector shuts down. I have tried all kinds of stuff and im clueless on what to do.- WarndorfBest Solution

I actually fixed this myself!!!! Same thing, new bulb, fans work, turn on for first 20 seconds or so, see HP splash screen and then it shuts down. Try below....It worked for me.
Here's the fix: Take off the top cover of the projector. Unplug the wire leading from the two fans in the back of the unit to one of the circuit boards in front of you. Just trace one wire from fan to board. Unplug at board. Turn unit on and it will again turn on, show HP splash screen and then shut down, like it should, because the fans are now disabled. After it completly shuts down, plug the fan wire back into the board. Turn the unit back on and, presto, its working again. It will not turn off.
