You need to replace the PCB located in the back of the refrigerator. Took me about 20 minutes after I got the part. Then you will have to program the code back into it. Costly but rather easy.

SOURCE: water and ice dispenser is not working, lights are

you have an electrical issue likely in your dispenser board, but I would not attempt this yourself, instead I would highly recommend you seek help from an expert refrigerator repair service

SOURCE: Maytag Ice20 refrigerator

Thanks, Solution #3, for the phone number ((800) 688-9900)! We, too, have the Ice2O refrigerator, and the HV Board started the disco light show last night. Followed instructions above to disable it, which temporarily solved the problem. Was on the phone with Maytag (Whirlpool?) this AM, and their initial response was that they wouldn't cover anything since we are out of warranty. I had to be extremely firm with my expectation that all parts and labor would be covered. Sent the rep back to her supervisor several times until they agreed to cover both. If you find yourself in a similar situation, don't give up until everything is covered. This is a design issue that should NOT be impacted by an expired warranty!

SOURCE: lights on panel blinking. ice dispenser keeps opening and closing

there is the HV board on the back under a cover . 2 680uf capacitors @ 35v are likely domed instead of flat on the top and are likely hot. replacing these with an equal value will cure the problem. they are in parallel so 1000 and 470uf will cure it. mine was same model except white. local dealer said no warranty. did not call maytag but he indicated it might help. good luck

Ice door flap will not close

I had a similar problem once. i opened the door and used a hair dryer blowing into the dispensing area of the door. There was a ice build up that was not visible with a quick look. It takes a while so be patient when thawing and be sure not to use too high of setting so you dont deform any of the plastic parts.

Walk in freezer solenoid not opening

Many Kenmore side-by-side refrigerators have an ice and water dispenser installed on the outside of the freezer door. The ice dispenser has a flap that opens to allow ice to be released, and closes after dispensing to keep the cold air inside of the freezer. The dispenser flap is opened and closed by a solenoid, that when energized pulls the plunger attached to the flap, opening the door. If the flap stops opening and closing, it is likely due to a faulty solenoid.

Ice will not dispence thru door.

Without knowing the brand and model # I can offer the most common solution.

On most "pass the ice through the door" models there is a flapper door where the ice dispenses. The spring which holds this door closed when you are not dispensing ice becomes weak allowing the flap to stay open jsut a bit. This open space will create an ice dam in teh dispenser thus not allowing the ice to dispense. The repair is generally made by replacing the flap assembly.

All the best.

Whirlpool Gold Side By Side Ice Dispenser Problems

Instead of what you think the sound is, try and see what is happening when you actuate the ice lever. open freezer door, depress the door light switch, or tape it closed. now actuate the ice dispenser lever, does the flapping door open, that which opens to allow ice from bucket into your glass? Now look at the bucket itself, do you see the gears rotating? remove the bucket from the door, and repeat, do you see the auger shaft rotating?

Either of these are a complex repair, one I would not recommend DIYers to try on their own, for they require taking the door apart, and if not done right, your door may not close properly. Normally I have no problem advising a repair, but there are some i dont, this icemaker system, and compressors.

The ice dispenser door stays open. Selenoid works

This is due to a rusted solenoid plunger .You will need to remove the top freezer door hinge cover ( 1 screw ) , and disconnect the plug there . This will remove power to the dispensor . Using a screwdriver , insert it just behind the dispensor board , and twist , to pry the board off . Remove the 3 plugs there , and remove the board . Remove the 4 screws on the white cover , and slide the cover out and off . In the top right , in the dispensor area , you will see the solenoid and plunger . 3 screws hold the solenoid on . Lift the flap , and the plunger will lift off . Part number for solenoid and plunger is WR62X10055 . The closing spring is probably good , and if you are pushing the flap closed , you are moving the plunger itself , instead of it gliding inside the solenoid , to the closed position .
