You would have to install Win 8.1 64 bit from scratch; new copy with new license. Then you'll have to reinstall all of your old 32 bit programs, some may not work on 64 bits.

My computer is telling me I can not run an x86 build of this utility on a x64 platform. I am running windows 7. What do I have to do to be able to run this program for the new Futura CE-150

x86 means 32bit operating system , x64 means 64bit operating system.Windows is divided into to categories 32 and 64 bit. In your case you might be trying to install 32bit operating system's software or a application in an 64bit operating system running machine. If you are getting the above mention error message than it is clear that your window 7 is 64bit operating system and a 64bit operating system doesn't support 32 bit's software. You only can install software or application you are meant for 64bit supporting.

I have bought e games MahJongg Master 6. Have run the disc to install but the game wont run, tells me Cannot initialise graphics and cannot install graphics device. My system is HP pentium 2.7GHz, 2GB...

Mahjong 6 was produced in 2004 and will likely not be compatible with your operating system, operating systems that are 64bit are often less compatible with software than operating systems that are 32bit, especially with older software. One solution you can try is to:
  1. Right click the desktop shortcut for the game
  2. Click "properties"
  3. Click the "compatibility" tab
  4. Check the box next to "run in compatibility mode for"
  5. Select Windows XP
  6. Click Apply
This may allow the game to run by emulating an older operating system.

Window 7 is not work in my system

The first thing you should know is that what is your system Is it 32bit (or x86) or is it 64 bit (or x64). The 32bit Windows 7 should be chosen for 32bit System and like wise.
Then you should know the the processor and RAM of your System. If the processor speed is less than 1 GHz than it is a problem. If your RAM is less then 1GB the your PC will slow down. If your Hard disk is less than 16 GB free space than again you are going to have problem..........Similarly you should adhere to System and Windows compatibility details. If you do not have a system like this try or fall back to Windows XP.

Good Luck!

Vista x32 want to upgrade vista x64

microsoft provides upgrade discs from it's site (you should payteh freight).
If u are using Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic, there is no way to upgrading.

else, the other versions allows u to upgrade.
remember: the only difference between 32 and 64 bit is the RAM memory usage (32 bit will not use more than 3,2GB RAM), and there are a lot of programs that won't run properly in 64 bit version .

System crashes and i have to reformat after installing msn premium software on new 64 bit vista laptop

you can downgrade to 32bit. you would have to reinstall windows using a 32bit cd. i would recommend it you wont see much of a difference. all programs where originally made for 32 bit. the only difference between the two is that 64bit supports more ram. like xp pro; 32bit will recognize 3.25gb as ram even if you have 4gb installed but other than that not much difference. personally i dont like any 64bit systems nor vista... but with 32bit you will be able to run a wider range of programs with no problem

Windows XP Upgrade

completely different operating systems actually... as far as i know that upgrade would not be possible... a full install would be the way to go... back up all your data first.

the beauty of 64 bit tho is it basically allows you to add unlimited memory to your computer.

Memory Issue

yeah you should upgrade. Windows xp 32bit only support up to 3gb memory. You should upgrade to 64bit.
And your specs? Yeah it can run 64 bit operating systems or if you like, use Windows Vista x86 or x64 with Service Pack 1.
