For awhile I had to uninstall and install the printer till the system detect the port and then the canon, but after first month I haven't had the option to detect the canon and port once again.
Uninstall all USBs.
Open device manager and remove all drivers.

It would indicate that the printer does not like the black ink. Is it a new cartridge? If it is a new cartridge please remove BOTH inks. Use a pencil eraser on the electronic chip on the black ink and install the black. If the printer accepts the black then fit the colour. If it fails to read the black ink then it is possible to bypass the ink monitor by pushing and holding the red circle with triangle inside it button. This will disable ink monitor for that cartridge. It will not warn you of low ink until you fit a new cartridge, when it will re-enable ink monitoring.
