Re: Please Help

Hi channyfanny. Have you tried beating on the set, LIGHTLY!!!
After it has shut off??? If it tries to come back on when you do this, it may be a bad solder joint or cracked component in the tv, if not, it may be a faulty component in the shutdown circuit, or a high voltage problem.

Hokk up my dvd player to my digital cable box

Thats ok my family is that same. you have to plug the video cords ( yellow white red ) into the output of the dvd vcr combo ( i think it says vcr output) then connect the ( yellow white and red ) video cord into the input your televition. the input may be at the back or front or both.

It looks better and cleaner if you plug it into the back ones. It should say input and be ( yellow white red ) colours. once you have connected them both up to eachother you turn the power on (if you left it on dont worry its fine) and tuen the vcr on and tv on at the power buttons.

Then turn the tv on to av1 or video what ever your tv calls it. put a vhs or dvd in and press play and it should work.

Thanks for asking if you have any other problems i am happy to help please dont hesitate to ask

Toshiba 26AV502U (new) video dropout if VHS tapeis not perfect

Had problem checked by local outfit called "Circuit Pro"; their analysis was compatibility.
Actual answer was that the Toshiba required a better quality input from "any" VHS source.
I finally took a "less than perfect" VHS tape with me when I returned the Toshiba TV to the store and demonstrated the problem to one of the TV sales people. He played the VHS tape through a display VHS/DVD player to three different brands of TV. The picture was often "black screen" on a Toshiba, but was merely poor quality on the other two brands. I upgraded to a Sony KDL26M4000 from the Toshiba 26AV502U.

T.V. shuts off when I try to play a DVD in the built-in player

Try putting in a VCR tape let it load and hit stop. If the set stays on it's the VCR deck causing the problem. It will be either be bad sensors or LED or possibly the mode switch. Let me know if this helps.

RCA F25645 25in TV.

I have this same TV. The DVD player is either hooked up to the video or s-video input. Go to the Menu (either through the remote or from the front of the TV) and select the Setup option. Go to the part where it asks if you want to use a DVD player. Select yes. Then select Video Input. Exit the Setup. When you hit the DVD button, it will switch to the Video input. The second step is to go into the Menu and select Channel, then go to Video Input Source. From there, select which input you are using for your DVD player, the S-Video or the standard Video (yellow composite cable).

You have to choose the right INPUT on your TV where your DVD player was connected. If your using the Yellow/Red/White cable from your DVD player you need to choose on your TV the input Example Video1 Video2, etc... If your using the COAX,(like cable wire) Put your TV on Channel 3 or 4. Hope this may help you. Please post the outcome, if you need further help. Is this TV is a COMBO?

Connecting DVD Player

when you say nothing do you mean the tv wont come on? If the tv is on can you see the words (input, volume bar, menus, etc.) do you hear audio? does the player work on another tv, since you have a sylvania tv, are you using the game button on the top of the remote to switch to the jacks on the front? Good luck :0)
