Question about RCA PRO842 8mm Analog Camcorder
Please note that my camera is a PRO845 model but the following info may still be helpful to you.
Look carefully on the bottom and see if you can find a tiny push button which may say ADJ (for adjustment) beside it. With a good battery if you press this button in you should be able to adjust the time and date. On most older RCA models you must also have the clock battery installed. On mine it's a thin dime sized 3V battery. Mine is a CR2025 from Maxell. Using an external power supply or a good battery you can still make the adjustments to the time and date but without the tiny back up 3V cell you will loose the setting when the battery is dead or removed as well as the power supply.
When you press the ADJ button one of the time or date figures starts flashing and then you must change the value by pressing the DATE button. Once you have the value you need you must press the ADJ button again and it will jump to the next figure. Keep repeating this until you've programmed them all.
