Www.carter.com ask for exploded views of your carb you'll need the tag number on the carb. Its relatively easy to do as long as your float level is correct or google carter carberators using the tag number

1987 chrysler fith ave carburator rebuild

Carb rebuilding is not for the inexperienced mechanic. It would take me a couple hours to type out the procedures for this.If you want to tackle it, your best bet is to pick up a manual at the auto parts store. These usually cover all makes and cost about $20. Be sure to read it before you start. It's extremely easy to make it worse than it currently is. Your car will have either Holley or Carter carburator. The name should be cast into the body Plan on 2 or 3 hours for the rebuild.Otherwise check around for a good shop that specializes in fuel systems to do it for you.You may also want to look at replacing it for about the same price. Hope this helps.

I have 1982 ford f150 with a 351windsor in it, the stock venturi 2bbl carb is leaking, what type of carb would fit the manifold without changing it? Also is the distributor supposed to be able to turn when...

Edelbrock and Carter both make 2 bbl. carbs for 351W. that will fit stock intake.
Distributor should not turn on it's own. Only with the engine running

Carb is leaking it looks like accelerator pump. truck still runs not sure if there is a gasket i could replace.

Hi!!

There is a carburator rebuild kit that you can get at the AutoParts store for your vehicle. Runs about $25 and it has a diagram and step by step instruccions on how to rebuild the carburator yourself. If you don't feel comfrortable doing it, take it to a carburator shop for rebuilding. It is cheaper if you take the carb. by itself. Before removing carb. take a few pictures of the hoses and linkage n mark each hose and electrical connection removed, this will make your life a lot easier when you install it back.
