I have a Panasonic NVGS15. When i playback i get black lines on the screen and the picture is playing back faster than normal. The problems seems to be with the playback of LP and SP casettes. Please send me a solution

My camera has all the black lines during playback also it is asking me to press the reset button as well .Will cleaning the heads work with this?

Same problem, play back with lines, and no sound. But sometimes it's fine... at others, if I stop and start it again, same problem. The problem seemed to begin right after a borrowed a tape from someone else that might have been dirty. Do I need to worry about reusing the same tapes I've tried to play unsuccessfully after cleaning? Or are they now permanently dirt contaminated?

It is probably a dirty head. One camera i had i had to clean it much more often that i wanted to and certainly before any important shoot.

Here is a tip though. Always use the same make of tape (and code). If you do change your tape (or code) then clean the heads before you put in the different tape. this is all to do with "dry or wet" lubrication used on different tapes. i do not know enough about that to comment, but the tip comes form a very good source.

Some people run the whole tape through on record (with the lens hood on) before they use it. I do not think it will help for this problem, but you can try.

Horizontal equally spaced black bars accross the screen when in playback mode similar to looking through partially opened venetian blinds.

You may need to clean the head on the device. You can purchase head cleaning tapes from most stores that sell the tapes, or goto a specialist camera shop.
Failing that, open the tape slot, tape the tape out, and with a soft cloth see if you can clean the small silver heads very gently.

My screen is striped blue during playback with no soud panasonic palmcorder pv gs15

Your tape has a small latch on it that closes to protect from recording or eraser and opens to allow for playing or dubbing. Slide it open and see what happens.

Try re-setting the camera by pushing the reset-switch with a small object (like a pen).

No color

Do you have a replacement cord between your tv and camcorder that you can try?

There probably is a short in the yellow cord causing the picture to go to B & W.

hi, if you have stuck the head cleaner in and this has not removed the black lines then the head might either need a thorough clean or may be damaged.

Choppy recording and playback

If the heads become dirty, “NEED HEAD
CLEANING” appears during recording. During
playback, moreover, the following symptoms
≥Mosaic-like noise appears partially or the
sound is interrupted.
≥Black or blue mosaic-like horizontal stripes

When normal playback cannot be performed
even after the head cleaning
One possible cause is that normal recording
could not be performed because the heads were
dirty at the time of recording. Clean the heads,
and perform recording and playback again. If
normal playback can be performed, the heads are
clean. Before an important recording, be sure to
conduct a test recording to make sure that normal
recording can be performed.
≥If the heads become dirty soon after cleaning,
the problem may be the tape. If so, try another
≥During playback, the picture or sound may be
interrupted momentarily, but this is not a
malfunction of the Camcorder. (One possible
cause is that the playback is interrupted by dirt
or dust that momentarily adheres to the heads.)

BLACK Lines and having to reset.

i assume that the 'black lines' are 5 bars of dark video spaced equally across the screen. this is a symptom of dirty heads. use a mini DV cleaning tape, and the problem should go away.
